Which fuel is better Shell or BP?

If both are 93 octane which is better for my Z? Your opinion and past experiences with either will be very much appreciated.

If you have the availability to 93 octane it isn't going to much matter the "brand"?Use it and enjoy the car!

All I can say from my experience, is that I get more MPG's from Shell gas. Other than that I have no clue...

As I said my friend as long as minimum 91 octane all are good.Just a preference thing as to brand.Every brand has its cheerleaders!

Only thing I really do is try to avoid any gas with Ethanol.

One website that gets tossed around frequently is toptiergas.com. BP is not on there, so take that how you want. Some people laugh at that site and their testing, some people swear by it.

I think the gas is the same, its just what each different company puts in it as additives. Most have additives to help keep the injectors and all clean. As far as how the gas is produced I doubt there is a difference in the process that makes one brand better than another.

1. Very hard to find a station now-a-days that isn't using the 10% ethanol.

I have several friends who own gas stations...
Unless the station is corporate owned will you find they are using their own refined gasoline; and even in some cases they don't. Most gas stations get their gas from the same place. There are only a few refineries, so all gas comes from one of them. Most stations buy gas and select which octane they want to buy. There are certain strategic locations throughtout the country where gas is pumped out of the distribution lines and offloaded to gas trucks. Also, gas in the pipelines is 87 octane coming from the refinery. The refinery will pour an additive into the lines every so often, which in turn makes the gas 91, 92, 93 octane respectfully. So say the gas station purchased 93 octane gas. When their truck delivery company goes to fill up the tanker, they get whatever octane of gas that is in the pipeline at that time. So even though you bought 93 doesn't mean that's what you'll get on delivery. That's the way the old inefficient infrastructure system works.

Neither. Mobil is the best. It's closest to my house.

WaWa is the best because you can get an awesome WaWa chocolate milk when you fill up. :ugh2:
