yeah i saw that nissan as a whole was up like 20% but the 370 and GT-R were way down, GT-R sold 92 the least ever since its been out

I am stunned that more people aren't buying this car. The Camaro isn't helping, I'm sure, but still, this is a performance bargain. I feel kind of bad for Nissan that they engineered a car that could meet or equal a Cayman in almost every metric for tens of thousands less and people aren't interested.

I do like the fact that I don't see them everywhere...

I'm VERY proud to say that one of those 713 units belongs to me

By the way, if you were waiting for any reason, NOW is the time to pick up a Z. The dealership I bought it from literally told me that because it's the end of the year, they would do almost anything just short of a hand-job to sell off their '09 inventory. I got a great deal.

jookiyaya 12-02-2009 06:43 AM

plus we're still in the dayam recession, i dont think we will be out of it even for the 2010 fiscal year.

turns out 82% of Americans still think we are NOT coming out of recession when we were told it has ended, even though online sales/ black friday sales went up 15% more than 2008.

i guess what im trying to say is, not many people have a cool 30 gran or so laying around like us.

so lets thank our lucky stars 370z is still rare to find when ur driving down highway 5 or 95 =)

areyouin729 12-02-2009 08:19 AM

I accounted for .0014 sales

I def like the fact that 370Z's will be more of a rarity, 350Z's are everywhere but like I said in a previous thread

the 350 came out with little competition, Nissan hadn't had a Z in the US in 8 years

America's muscle revival def. hurts the Z but that's a good thing IMO

koeppelnissan 12-02-2009 09:17 AM

We only sold 1 Z last month out of 116 cars! Winter is rough for Z sales in the northeast. We have 4 more 2009 coupes to move, great prices for anyone interested!

yah, timing is everything. like discussions about global warming... not much effect in the winter time. :icon17: i guess you can say people are pretty stupid or easily pursuaded by weather and climate.

GingaBreadMan 12-02-2009 12:51 PM

Those numbers don't show the orders for the 2010 model. I believe dearlerships stop taking orders for 09's in Aug or Sept.

Those numbers aren't for orders, the numbers are for Z's sold in November 2009!

I'm not...

X-Mas + bad economy = little car sales figures.

The Z and GT-R aren't "practical"...nor cheap. I'm sure Nissan understands this and won't do anything stupid...like discontinue them.

GingaBreadMan 12-02-2009 02:24 PM

I know. My point being, low numbers are due in some part to dealers no longer taking orders for 09's after Aug. If there are low numbers in the first qtr of 2010, then there may be reason for concern. The upside is the car will still be rare. The downside, it may hurt the availability if aftermarket options.

I am certainly doing my part. I purchased my 370Z in November from forum dealer Lou Fusz Nissan.

I was looking last night and there are some great deals on 2009 370Zs right now. I saw one for 2 grand under invoice. Maybe I should have waited until December. :icon17: Just kidding Lou.

cave vulture 12-02-2009 03:37 PM

The real comparison will come after Jan.1, 2010

Because then the 2010 Zs will be going up against 2009 Z sales, and 350Z sales will be pretty much out of the mix. For the record..... Jan. 2009 sales were 1280 units.

Lou will give you a good deal, but I seriously doubt he would go 5 grand under invoice. :shakes head:

My neighborhood dealership has 24 Z's left on their lots... just waiting for the last few to be left and I'll buy right then.. hopefully be able to pull off more than $2000 below invoice and less than 3.99% interest ---> thats the BEST offer I've seen on this forum so far.

The dealers in my area are also throwing out awesome deals on their remaining 2009's. So good it's killing me to pass them up, but I want a 2010.

Fewer cars sold now will = greater resale prices after the recession.

SigPapa226 12-03-2009 01:54 PM

I plan to contribute to the December figures. Mine is due in a week.
