Is the 370Z as hard as the 350...

I know the 370Z has not been around for a long time. However I seen a lot already modded ones in here. I know the 350Z was/is a pain in the azz to do anything to it.

How is the 370Z to work on it?

As long as you don't want to change the spark plugs it's fine. Tinkering with most bits aren't a problem.

Seems about the same to me.

Compared to the 350 the 370 has many factory mods already.Have you driven one?
Do yourself a favor and take one out for a spin?

Aren't the spark plugs right on top?

Not as bad as some cars actually, like the cars that have the rear of the engine buried in the firewall.

They are right on top of each rocker cover under the ignition coils, but you have to remove a few things to get there including the electronic throttle bodies.

I drove one, and bought one! Still waiting to get deliver but that is another story. I'm talking as far as working on the car. For example as simple as removing the shift knob, in most 350 is a pain in the azz. Stuff like that...

That's funny, I've always thought the 350z was incredibly easy to work on compared to most cars on the road.

Compared to The Audis I deal with at work, it's easiest vehicle in the world to work on!

Are you kidding me? The 350z isnt hard to work on at all. Have you even owned one to say you know it was hard to work on?

Sorry but if you have a hard time removing a shift knob you dont belong working on a car. That is SIMPLE.

Well considering where the oil filter is, the Z is easier to work on than my 2005 Civic, but harder to work on than my 97 Ranger.

In terms of spark plugs - haven't even looked for them on the Civic yet (70K), my 4-banger Ford has 8 plugs, 4 per side, and I had to remove the upper half of the intake manifold to get to them...so I bet it was more of a PITA than what the Z will be...

In any case, spark plugs are good for 120K...these days.

working on it!!

The 350Z is a much better car for DIY,than the 300zx TT i had,all credit to the Nissan engineers, how on earth did they pack so much "stuff" into the engine bay of the Twin Turbo I will never know,I did a plenum pull once to renew all the small hoses underneath and as long as you were methodical it was OK,but I would have hated to pay a shop to do it.
Also to remove the engine from my 1971 Lotus Elan Sprint takes about 8 hours, most modern cars seem to have more of a component removal system than earlier cars ie 60/70s.

Yes I owned a 350, and work on it too. I'm not a noob when working on Zs or any other car. My first Z was a 1990 300ZX.

But you need to go to the my350z/350 motoring and see the comments from some owners. Search removing shift knob, and you will see. Here is one example, READ and research before you do another smart comment in the future! ;)
