how durable is key fob?

I put on my warmup the other day to wash my car. I removed my watch , wallet , and fob. Put them in my pocket (middle pocket of warm up top). as i reached into the bucket to get a towel i feel my watch in the bucket , then my wallet , then the fob !!!! Everything in my pocket slid out into the bucket. Don't know how long it had been there. But the fob continues to work fine. I let it dry in the sun for a few hours. Is there anything i should do ??

i would at least take the battery out and wipe it down. those lithiums short circuit when there's water between the two poles. ive actually seen and heard them hiss. :D

I would open it up and take it apart to let dry completely. The oval printed circuit board will come out in one piece. There is also a rubber sheet under the buttons you can take out to let dry. Also dry the battery too.

Do all of the above recomendations and a prayer!Start saving for a new one because eventually it will die suddenly!
Don't ask how much until you save quite a few dollars!..lol!

Pray, son. Pray.

The fob is water-resistant, according to the owner's manual. If it was only in there for a second you should be fine.

I have a watch that is water resistant but it doesn't mean I can go scuba diving with it?Maybe one thousands of a second!Good luck!

I've never dropped mine into a bucket of water, but I've dropped it on pavement and it broke apart. It took a few minutes to get everything lined up and locked in properly but its still working.

Just remember that water resistant and proof are two different things. But it is sounding pretty tough so far.
