I love my 6MT rev match. The sound with an exhaust is intoxicating. I agree with all the quirks mention in prior posts but I still really enjoy mine. I'd say the weakest point of this trans is the CSC. Beware though that the MT will make some rather unrefined (but normal) noises that you do not hear with an auto.
However, I do not DD my Z and have no desire to DD an MT through traffic everyday, so for that reason I wouldn't get an MT anything as my DD. To each his own though. |
I bought my '16 Base as my DD, with MT. Then again, all of my vehicles have been MT since I started driving. My syncro rev match is my right foot, which does a great job. The only thing needed to make the MT more pleasurable is replacing the crappy stock clutch pedal with the RJM adjustable unit.

A friend of mine drives in heavy traffic everyday, to & from work. At least an hour each way for 20 years, and he swears that he will only drive a manual. While I drive a 6mt, my drive is nowhere like his and if I were him, I'd probably have chosen an auto trans. So bottom line, choose the trans you like best and don't look back on it.
Regarding the 6mt with SRM, it's great for city traffic, then add the RJM clutch pedal and better yet. It will definitely make it easier for you to drive in stop and go traffic. The beauty of Nissan is if you want to turn SRM off and drive a stick the old fashioned way, one touch of a button does it. |
I love the revmatch. I came from a 2009 Scion xB manual which I rev-matched myself. I'm having to relearn myself on the clutch in this car because they're so vastly different. When I'm bored I'll try but I need to get the RJM clutch pedal and I believe the EcuTek(Is this correct?) to adjust throttle response.
