Nissan 370Z- "It's VERY fat! Looks like it has eaten all the pies!"
i was watching the video of Motortrend car of the year and that's the statement Editor in chief (Angus mackenzie) made about the 370z. What do u guys think? I kinda disagree because it's not a heavy car. It weighs around 3300 lbs and Nissan intentionally made it wider and shorter for better performance.

Those guys are idiots. The roadster is one of the more aggressive convertibles on the market, imo.
The coupe has a wide body, but are they not keen on the advantages of a wide, low body on a sports car? |
You can decide whether you trust their opinion after I say this:
Car of the Year was the Fusion |

Did the Z not even make the 'finalist' list? Wow. MT dropped the ball big on this one; they are usually much better with COY. Their reviews and magazines have been going down for about a year now which is one reason I get one more issue (probally the one with COY) and my subscription expires.

A fat *** (J.Lo) in a low, short and sexy sports car is good. If Angus Mackenzie called her a skinny, boney ***, I would have been deeply offended.
Urban Dictionary: boney *** |

A couple thoughts.
First, it seems they interview the negative critics who then say "some of the other drivers really loved this car...it just didn't do it for me". Perhaps it makes for more reader interest when they bash a car? Watching their clips, the reviewers do it car after car. "This Mercedes was thrown together." WTF does that even mean? The NVH issue comes up review after review. My guess is this is a quality of the car that is magnified if you drive a Porsche, an Audi R8 and then a Z all back to back. For us real world people, we just drive our Z every day and it feels nice :). |
LOL. I subscribe to the following car magazines:
Automobile Road and Track Car and Driver Autoweek Notice which one's not on the list? There's a reason for that, and this statement just confirms my decision. But hey, give the guy a break. I mean, what else do you expect from someone who's named after meat? ;) |

My auto rag subs: Automobile Road and Track Car and Driver Autoweek darn - I missed that MT sub, too. |
ive always thought motortrend was worthless and week :shakes head:
road and track & car and driver are the best for real world automotive info imo |

SO TRUE!!!! The Z has hips and some rump.... just how I LOVE em!!! Rump Shaka... oh yeah! |
I think the wide look to the rear is great. Nicely proportioned. Almost has that 911 Turbo hips thing going on.
