90 mph max cruise control?
 

So i was driving back home after thanks giving (180 miles) going 85, there are usually arent that many cops on the road, so i decided i wanted to brisk at a casual 95. So i push the increase speed lever up and it stops on 90. Im thinking **** THIS, not only can we not touch our nav while we drive, not only can we not get over 155, now i cant set my CC to what i want? Did i buy this car or "did i buy this car?" Next thing i know i wont be able to start the engine 1 mile over my next due oil change cause the fucker who did it programmed it into my car without even asking. What are your thoughts? :stirthepot::mad:

At 90mph, you should be driving, not cruising. You should be poised to stop as quickly as possible with as little time to react as you can. With cruise control, your feet are off the pedals, you are more comfortable and less alert. Your reaction time is increased. Not safe.

I agree that 90mph seems arbitrary as the line between safe and unsafe. But, then again, so is the 70mph speed limit.

While I commend you for having the balls to set your cruise control to almost 100 mph, I have to say it's kind of silly. We all get the urge to push up to that speed, but I can't imagine "casually" cruising 95 mph during a long road trip, even with a V1 at my side. Plus, at that speed, I want to be in full control of the car, regardless of the situation.

144km/hr is the max the cruse can be set at on the canadian models which is about 90 mph

CRUISE CONTROL OPERATIONS
The cruise control allows driving at a speed
between 25 to 89 MPH (40 to 144 km/h)
without keeping your foot on the accelerator
pedal.To turn on the cruise control, push the MAIN
switch on. The CRUISE indicator light will
illuminate.
To set cruising speed, accelerate the vehicle
to the desired speed, push the SET/COAST
switch and release it. Take your foot off the
accelerator pedal. Your vehicle will maintain the
set speed.
. To pass another vehicle, depress the
accelerator pedal. When you release the
pedal, the vehicle will return to the previously
set speed.
. The vehicle may not maintain the set speed
on winding or hilly roads. If this happens,
drive without the cruise control.
To cancel the preset speed, use one of the
following methods:
a) Push the CANCEL switch.
b) Tap the brake pedal.
c) Turn the MAIN switch off. The CRUISE light
will turn off.
. If you depress the brake pedal while pushing
the RESUME/ACCELERATE or SET/
COAST switch and reset at the cruising
speed, the cruise control will disengage.
Turn the MAIN switch off once and then turn
it on again.
. The cruise control will automatically cancel if
the vehicle slows more than 8 MPH (13
km/h) below the set speed.
. If you move the selector lever to the N
(Neutral) position (Automatic Transmission
models) or depress the clutch pedal (Manual
Transmission models), the cruise control
will be canceled.
To reset at a faster cruising speed, use one
of the following methods:
. Depress the accelerator pedal. When the
vehicle attains the desired speed, push and
release the SET/COAST switch.
. Push and hold the RESUME/ACCELERATE
switch. When the vehicle attains the desired
speed, release the switch.
. Push, then quickly release the RESUME/
ACCELERATE switch. Each time you do
this, the set speed will increase by about 1
MPH (1.6 km/h).
To reset at a slower cruising speed, use one
of the following methods:

You can set it at just below 90, then use the ACCEL button to raise the speed to anywhere you want it and it will stay there. Don't ask me how I know this - I was very very bad.

I can use my nav while driving
I have no top speed limiter

I keep my foot right by by the brake, and there is basically no one on the road that i take, so saying my reaction time is lessened than that of what you percieve to be your own is quite contradicting. But anyways, my brother's 911 doesnt have any limiters, that is why i raise concerns! I usually only go 80 but i did was feeling rather frisky that morning (it was 6:30 am)!

But if you're feeling frisky why use cruise control??

It sounds like the ole saying you "can't please all the people all the time,you can only please some of the people some of the time"!
Seems like some on here just whine about the simplest and stupidest things and always find something to gripe about.
This new Z has been torn apart bolt by bolt and srutinized in every sense and yet someone still comes up with some off the wall tweek.
Actually it is funny because of late I read some complaints and have to laugh at the lack of common sense!Kind of scares me that they are driving this new powerfull sports car with out any experience or respect for the road or life!

next thing you know the car wont start because you're ugly (not sexy enough for the Z). :D
