Now you have an excuse for mod money. You have to play the bad to your favor sometimes.

You must not know how to drive then. The Maxima has 32 less hp, is slower from 0-60 and the 1/4 mile, and is few hundred pounds heavier than a Z.

You gonna put an sr20 in it? It'll pull a premium right before

sprint booster

mishuko 10-03-2016 06:39 AM

I try not to get above 3k until the thermo moves. Sometimes it does in first since it feels more rev happy after the tune.

Thermo warm I'll go up to 4.5 and once oil temp starts showing I will haul arse.

Now my tires are another story :/

But for those 10 seconds....he's free.

Coupe 10-03-2016 10:28 AM

Yup,driver mod needed .It would be upsetting if a Maxima is faster than a 370z.

Firebase99 10-03-2016 12:00 PM

My friend has one. Its punchy for a sedan, no doubt. Its not gonna win any stoplight races against a 370 though.

brucelidat 10-03-2016 12:36 PM

an Ecutek tune will solve your throttle lag issues

Nithmo 10-03-2016 01:24 PM

He doesn't need anything to be faster.

As pointed out, he makes more power stock and his car weighs less.

OP, check out the dyno curves for a stock 370z. The VVEL, aka Nissan VTEC, allows the engine to make power all the way to redline. The transmission in the Maxima may allow for a bit more power to be put down, lower in the rpm range (the car is not meant to be a screaming red line banshee like the Z).

At 4500rpm, shiiiiiiet, you still have 3000rpm to go. Our engine doesn't taper out, in terms of horsepower. The power numbers just grow until redline.

Bet she loves that interior, especially if she got the SR, SL or Platinum!

brucelidat 10-03-2016 08:02 PM

I didn't say he needed Ecutek to be faster than the Maxima, I just said it would solve the throttle lag issue he mentioned.
