positioning shift knob..
this may be a super dumb question, forgive me but cant exactly find a thread on this.. just bought a southbend shift knob from a member here. I install it , i cant get the the print on the knob to face me.. i tried many many times, it always end up facing away from me. Does anyone have this shift knob has this problem..?

My TWM knob has an adjustable insert that allows you to control how far the knob screws down and by extension which direction it ends of facing.
A dab of blue Loctite threadlocker (NOT red) should do the trick if you are still having troubles or don't have an insert. |

so with the threadlocker just screw it to the position that i want, and let it dry or something? never heard of that product. Thank you for your help. |
How easy was it to remove your stock knob? If it was not so easy, that was the thread lock (locktite) doing its job.

On the threads. I am sure instructions are on the container.

A non-permanent solution would be using Teflon tape or plumbing tape around the shaft. Wraps enough of it until your knob sits the way you wanted.

Use loctite blue and let it dry over night.

thank you all to my lovely forum members!!! appreciate all the help!! ^^

Sounds like you got it all sorted
But just to follow up ... the stock knob has gobs of RED threadlocker, which Loctite refers to as "high strength permanent". This is why the knob is so damn hard to remove. The blue threadlocker is "medium strength removable". Loctite Threadlocker Colors. Apply a small line of it across several threads of the shifter assembly (easier than trying to apply it inside the knob). |

I saw from a previous thread that you can use a couple of 3/8" x 1 1/4 Neoprene washers from lowes/home depot for about $0.50. That way you can still easily remove your shift knob to show off to your buddies or whatnot. Loctite would be a hassle to take remove in the future.
I used it to align the turtle on my Tommy Kaira shift knob. It gives you room to play with to make sure it is exactly where you want it while still keeping the knob on tight. |

To position knob without Locktite: 1) Thread jam nut onto shaft until it bottoms out 2) Thread knob onto shaft until it hits the jam nut or bottoms out 3) Unscrew knob until it is in correct position 4) Tighten jam nut against bottom of knob |
