Not to sound like a "tough guy," but I'd be willing to go toe to toe in situations like this. But I know, I know, there's something called "road rage" where the other person might pull out a gun and you're dead in an instant. Or the other scenario where there is more than one person and you'd get jumped by everyone.

Some guy did this to me a couple months ago. And it was about 10:30 at night. And he was driving an Audi. I was in the left lane (2 lane street), and he was up on my a55, kept on flashing his high beam on and off behind me. He could've just switched to the right lane and sped up. But he got in the right lane, then cut me off by getting in the left lane, and tried to brake check me. So I kept my head cool by slowing down and letting him speed up so there was lots of distance between him and I. Red light up ahead. He's alone, in the left lane....I probably shouldn't have done this, but I decided to get in the right lane (no car was there) and be abreast of him. I roll my window down, and look at him. I yell, "What's up man?! What's your problem?!" He kept his eyes straight ahead, and decided to look at me. I yelled, "What you gonna do?!" He kept staring. I got out my car, and said, "Let's fight! C'mon dude. What's up?!" As soon as the light turned green he hammered it and sped away....F'in coward.

Nobody is riding your tail at 120 on a US interstate. Stop lying/trolling.

It sounds crazy I know. But it happened. I was just as surprised it happened as you are to hear about it. I was going about 80mph when the car rolled up behind me so I sped up to 100 and sit was till right there so I kicked it up more until I made some distance from the other car and I happened to look down and noticed I was going 120 so I slowed down to normal speed from there. I wasn't flying at 120 continuously for a long period of time. Sorry if I did not explain it completely at first so I can understand your skepticism.

I know this. I looked up the specs later that night. He must have had the accelerator buried to the floor. I was at about 50%.

You probably shouldn't be posting on a public forum that you were doing 100, or 120mph.

Brake checking someone tailgating you is just stupid. Not only does it make you look like a jacka$$, it's dangerous.

Downshift a couple of gears without braking and watch for the nose dive when they brake. Then accelerate quickly to create a gap and go back to cruising. Rarely does it take more than one or two times for them to get the hint.

That is an effective technique...I use it every so often myself. Sometimes I just hit the emergency flasher switch so the rear lights go on only once. The tailgater doesn't know whether it is the brakes being applied or what :eekdance:...crude but very effective.

I usually toss a few frags out, had them cooking for about 3 seconds, boy does it ever work.

Another fun thing to do is slow down to match the cars speed on the side of you so they can't pass at all.

Or you could GTFO of the left lane unless you're passing.

This is a pretty decent one (unless you're not moving faster then the right lane traffic.. see above).

If you're being tailgated, chances are that car wants to go faster then you. If there is room to your right, BY LAW slower traffic keep right, doesn't matter what the speed limit is. It's safer for everyone on the freeway, keeps traffic flow smoother, and avoids these situations.

So, do what some of the above posts say, be cool, don't let them rattle you. Those big trucks get off of intimidating others. Makes up for their little weeny.
