Dang, glad you're ok!

AestheticCM1 09-21-2016 04:21 PM

That sucks. How many miles on the tires?

Nixin 09-21-2016 04:52 PM

As long as you were not injured, nothing else matters. Cosmetic damage can be repaired.

ChopsZ 09-21-2016 05:14 PM

Either the guy you past was going extremely slow or you were buzzing along at a pretty good clip. Definitely too fast for once you got into the rain.

Glad you're okay though.

Trips 09-21-2016 05:22 PM

Wow!!

Glad you're Okay!!

loiro370z 09-21-2016 05:36 PM

Thanksguys
The tires have probably 4 k miles or less. Was doing about 60.so no overly fast, just the water came so fast that got like a pool on that lane.

BGTV8 09-21-2016 06:18 PM

VDC on.
never turned it off

N1atmax 09-21-2016 06:27 PM

8.52 x sqrt of tire pressure = hydroplaning
tire condition/ weight /grooved concrete can all move the final number but assuming you are running 32 psi
means that you could hydroplane as low as 48 mph. looks like you were above that. glad you are ok.

axmea? 09-21-2016 06:58 PM

The good thing going is you're ok. The other good thing is you can get a new bumper.

Spooler 09-21-2016 07:04 PM

Wow, that wasn't much rain at all. I wonder if the concrete was oily. What tires do you have? Did you make any quick changes in
throttle or steering? I go way faster than that in heavier rain with RE11's.

Felix 808 09-21-2016 07:07 PM

Man if that's all that's damaged you got off light. Gad your OK.

kenchan 09-21-2016 07:16 PM

Z-Girl 12 09-21-2016 07:46 PM

Nothing a Lil nail Polish won't fix....j/k glad your ok.

Fuzzzy 09-21-2016 07:54 PM

Glad you're ok. I feel pretty good about your chances with the lottery ticket!

killrain 09-21-2016 08:23 PM

It's amazing how **** happens. Doesn't really look like too much rain either.

i believe you hydroplane at 50 mph so yea too fast

jaedub 09-21-2016 10:06 PM

At least you came out unharmed (except for your feelings). Nothing you could've done there. GL with the repairs!

Nice footage btw

sofaonasock 09-22-2016 12:04 AM

1. What was the tire pressure of your tires in psi?
2. How many 32" left did you have in your tires?
3. Which brand/model of tires were you running?

Spoiler 09-22-2016 02:32 AM

Glad it wasnt worse...

killrain 09-22-2016 01:05 PM

I think you just hydroplaned as well. Has happened to me in every vehicle ive ever owned, including my motorcycle. Just never ever press the brakes when it happens!

JARblue 09-22-2016 01:29 PM

Glad you are ok. The car can be fixed.

Streets are at their worst right at the beginning of rain (or after a light rain) before there's enough water to start washing away the oils. You can hydroplane much easier on this water mixed with oil compared to just a puddle of water.

Yabrokak 09-22-2016 02:06 PM

Yikes! That's scary to watch. Considering what happened though damage doesn't look that bad!

GF had to rush to Brasil to see her father, before he passed away last week. Was imagining her reaction to hear I was in a hospital banged up, with no closed friends or family here.
That scared me more than the accident.

JC-Nismo 09-22-2016 04:07 PM

I don't drive mine in the rain, but that gave way far to easy, not even enough time to react or try to correct..

Glad you are OK. Nothing like a wreck to mess you up. I am still having issues from my neck from being rear ended. The car can be fixed.

Similar thing happened to me in an old '89 Sunbird. Fairly new tires on it, just driving along, wasn't even speeding at the time (amazingly), and then it was like BOOM. I had hit the center divider with the front left, spun, and did almost a full 360 and was stopped in the emergency lane. Thankfully there wasn't much traffic, but the guy behind me got out to tell me what he saw.

I didn't see any of it, just suddenly it let go and I was stopped after hearing a bang.

iJDMTOY 09-28-2016 04:08 PM

Glad youre okay! Good thing the only damages was to the front only and not anything else

BuckeyeZ 09-28-2016 05:34 PM

Glad you are ok. Could have been much worse.

I think that will buff right out.....

And I am still waiting on the second 360.....

OldGuyFla 09-29-2016 09:00 AM

Ouch, glad you're OK.
