2017 370z Nismo Vs 2017 Q60 Red Sport
Ok, i know this is a Z forum and I will likely get bias opinions. I have a 2016 White Nismo Z, love the car, etc. I am ordering a new car and cannot decide between the same Z (white is the best color, no point in changing that), and the new Infinity Q60 Red Sport.
Z Pros - I know the car, it drives amazing, its fun, its cheaper. Very distinct look with Nismo package Q60 Pros - New, very few people have them, better interior, more horsepower... big question is the handling of the Q60. The problem is, I will not be able to drive a red sport before I order. I want an excellent handling car, but i do want something new and different. Does anyone think the Q60 is a good enough 'upgrade' to warrant the extra cost? Keep in mind, I can always get a 2018 370z when they come out, and hopefully they will be restyled. The 2016 Z has to go, so keeping it isn't an option. |
Troll much? Just grab a gently used Chiron.

A family member works at Nissan corporate in franklin, therefore I get a fleet vehicle every year. Every 9-12 months, the cars must be turned in and new ones ordered. Nissans are at 25% discount right now, where there is none on the infiniti, therefore a 370z is substantially cheaper. However, I usually like ordering something I hadn't had. I've had Just about every nissan and infiniti over the past 10 years.. whether is been because they were totalled, called in early, or simply on schedule.
It's always a struggle deciding when something new comes up. This one is a particularly tough decision as I can almost get 2 Z's for the price of a Q Thanks for the helpful comment. |
Con of the '17 Q is that it is brand new to the market. I would hold off until the next "family" plan purchase cycle and get a Z. It gives the engineers some time to work out any gremlins/bugs that seem to haunt most first year vehicles. Good luck.

Last question. Direct Adaptive Steering or not? If I want the Tech package (includes auto leveling headlights and advance climate control, and etc) I have to get it. Im scurrred of that
today it actually showed up on the infiniti website, would go White/White RWD... |
Holy hell they want 55k for the 400hp version!
20k over what I paid... Pass. Oh, and 500lbs heavier. Moo |
Lol #firstworldproblem
Meanwhile, kids don't have clean water to drink in some third world country. |

If you're cross shopping those two cars then you yourself need to decide what's important in your driving experience.... You will COMPLETELY lose Steering feel an lsd. Manual handbrake. Short wheelbase handling. On the other hand, you gain Power Luxury Technology. Now go figure it out foryourself and you can brag about your decision later.... bye! |

You said waiting is not an option, I guess it's a question of waiting vs risk or wasting money on engineering bugs. My two cents on the real question lol... the new Q60 Red Sport is definitely a head turner and Im SURE performs very well. So was the last G37 Coupe. Now you see them everywhere...still rarely see the Z. That why I love Z's so much, they have a unique look on the road.. I think Infiniti, just like most lux automakers, maintain a certain style among their full line and they all begin to look about the same just different sizes....nothing looks like the Z or other true sports cars for that matter, Corvette, Porsche, Viper, Exotics (obviously) and s few others. Either way, i know whats its like to say f*ck it and jump on a car so either way i agree i guess...LOL. Im sure many more of these conversations and dilemmas are on their way.... |
don't see the point of going from one z to another...... I'd try the Q.

It's interesting what was mentioned about the LSD.... i was assuming this Q would have it... thats pretty much a requirement for me. I checked the specs and dont see it listed. my 2014 Q60 had a LSD.. interesting

They are two different cars. Many become stupid snobs with one one of them.
