On a side note: I do keep my car clean. I mean it was a magazine cover car so I can't likely be rolling around in a filthy car. And I am meticulous about maintanence but I don't sweat all that small stuff like track day wear etc.

I spend more time in this "big piece of metal" than I do anywhere else other than at my job and in my bed, so for me....I'm gonna take care of it like I do anything else. I don't let dirt stains get on my bed or office desk, and I won't let them stay on my Z! Hell, I'm waxing mine for the 2nd time in 2 weeks because I don't think I did it well enough the first time. One thing I can say, even if you got a Z covered in mud and chips....I bet it'll still be a pretty car! |
I try to clean the exterior every week, keep the interior clean as I can during the week. My front bumper has I think 4 rock chips in it now, and not just slight, meaning the paint has been removed. No one even sees them unless they wash my car, as per last night a friend was helping and he saw them and was shocked, but he said you can never see them unless you look closely.

Regarding synthetic oil, coolant, K&N oiled air filter, etc., I try to be very meticulous. On the paintjob...hmmm, living in a condo' makes you look the other way, 'cause the sun down here's a killer.

I keep my car clean, but what really gets my goat is when people shut my door using the window.

Its my daily driver.... I usually gets washed once a week (but not if there is any rain in the forecast)... I vacuum the interior maybe once of twice a month.... Life is too short man, drive it, and wash it when you can....

My wife was looking for me at 8:30 one night and I was washing and drying She just shook he head and went back inside Obsessed  |

Microfiber always in the glove compartment, take bugs sap off daily, wash at least once a week. Responsible, but don't carry around quick detailer. Oh, and I clean under the hatch and engine bay, but slack on the wheel wells.

I find the dust stick stronger than the compressed air will blow so you need a rag to get it all off. |
i hate giving people rides...no matter what the weather, they somehow always manage to get dirt on my passenger floor mats.
also that horrible noise of someone hitting the kick plate when they enter the car...its soooo annoying. im so glad they when i'm with a group of ppl, that i can say, i got no room for u guys... |

i would say that i'm not too bad when it comes to the z, i do wash it every sunday when i have the chance and keep my slobbering asss bloodhounds far away from the car as possible. i only drive the thing once or twice aweek so it stays pretty clean. i do use all Mcguires products and they seem to to a fine job:tup:

The newness has wore off - now I really enjoy it!
|
I enjoy my 350 but I bought used and it was my DD until a few days ago when I bought a truck for DD anticipating the purchase of a 370. I don't know how I'm going to act especially if I get a Nismo, in my area there is NO base model with sport package 6MT left. I'm not paying for a Touring! My only choice is a Nismo sitting on the show room of my local dealer.
My last brand new car I babied from day one, it wasn't my DD and knew every inch of that car and kept it for 7 yrs. So I know is coming if I get the 370 brand spanking new. |

This is one of my biggest pet peeves too. The worst is when a girl is wearing heels and tries to get in your car. It's almost inevitable that they are going to scratch something getting in. |
I've had my car for 10 months and it drives in all weather, I do try to avoid the icy days when there is pea gravel on the road. That said I try and wash it at least once a month and wax it quarterly. It is just a car after all and I bought it to enjoy it, not to stare at it in the garage.

well my 370z is rotting in my garage. collecting dust. if anyone wants to pick it up... lol.
definition of OCD YOU: 1. opening garage and or front door, just to see YOUR 370z is still physically present to calm your dreaded "oh noes my baby" syndrome... 2. having to set a set area radius such as 5 feet of clearance perimeter devoid of any potential yet damage causing objects such as BUT not limited to..... -gut feeling in your stomach that maybe 'that' particular space doesnt seem right -another car -junk lying around your garage -birds crapping on your window because you thought that tree was a shady alcove of hapiness... 3. washing your vehicle whenever you come home from work... 4. after leaving your driver seat, you double check, triple check, QUADdruple check, and so forth until i think the 7th time or so you realize the e-brake is up, and the dayam alarm is set. 4a. alarm has been de-activated and then re-activated and so forth just to make sure it IS locked and then you turn around to make sure no one was staring at you.. probably thinking how weird u are.... 5. whenever you park, you do a 360 examination of the vehicle for any prints or scratches or dents or dirt or smudges or ANYTHING that pops out from YOUR eyes. 5a. when you come back to your vehicle, you do another 360... on your 370.... to make sure youre 100%.... A.... OK. 6. repeat steps 1 thru 5a about 3 or 4 times.. definition of OCD ME 1. repeat 6 about 3 or 4 times... and im seriously good to go. i promise. now THAT... is pathetic ^_^ thank you.... and "excuse me while i kiss the sky!" :worship: |
