I keep a can of compressed air in my glove box to take care of dust between the buttons/shift knob/dash etc... Nothing wrong with cleanliness.

my Z sits in the garage during the week, only driven on dry days, QD'ed after drives, will be washed once or twice a year before a full detail.

i like driving clean cars yet i dont like washing them. i just drive my dd to work and do all the errands.

Hey guys, I was talking to some people the other day about some of my habits and tendencies with my car and they all said that I'm out of my mind, lol. I keep my car meticulously clean and wash it once or twice a week. I keep towels on both of my seats to protect them from scratches and the like. I recently replaced my kick plate because it had a tiny scratch on it (even though that's what it is for). And I've been obsessing lately about a 3 inch scrape towards the bottom of my car that no one else can even see outside myself.

Please tell me I haven't lost my mind, I know many of share the same affliction right? lol

Welcome to the club. Most everyone that knows me appreciates that I keep the Z clean. I also keep the other cars clean, so it's no big deal. However, the Z gets special attention which does cause some funny accusations from my friends and relatives.

I'm kind of right with you man. I'm always going over my car with a fine-toothed comb seeing if there are any imperfections. I recently scraped my side-skirt and even though it's small and I'm the only one who knows about it, it's driving me crazy.

One thing I have learned though, is that no matter how careful you are, scratches, dings, scrapes will always happen, it's just the way it is.

Guys, it's just a car. If I were you I'd start thinking about the blessings of our families and not worrying so much about a chunk of iron.

However I do pet mine from time to time....:icon17:

I am so OCD that i am thinking after winter time driving in the rain, that i will get the car professionally buffed then see if i can get another cleacoat added ontop(not sure if its possible) and maybe have the bottom clean and protected so it doesnt rust.

I'm extremely OCD as well.. I've had the car for 3 weeks and drove it only twice on perfect weather days (only because I HAD to... I didn't take posession of my winter-beater till 3 days after I bought the Z). Then I washed it and stuck it in the garage till last Saturday when I had the whole front-end clear-bra'd. It will never come out in the rain or snow.. and, sadly, once it snows for the first time and salt/sand get thrown on the roads, it won't come back out till the spring when the roads get swept. I've got about 80 miles on the car (literally)... and it probably won't get past 100 till next spring (!!!). This is literally my first brand new car (and my dream car, at that), and I can only do this because I recently got a cheap winter junk car. Yeah, i'm a little OCD! :icon14:

LOL. No... I know. I'll be driving it for sure. Just not in any crap weather. And for the record it's a touring model, auto w/rear spoiler and I got it new for a little over 32k. Now is definitely the time to take advantage of those end-of-the-year deals!

:iagree: I do try to keep a good coat of carnauba wax on it (3-4 x per year, claying the paint & applying wax). Use touchless auto washes a few times a month.

Mostly tho, I just drive it. Had too many cars to get hung up on one. It is a machine, for pleasure (h'mmm my wife has one too, but it is shaped differently).:roflpuke2:

Just enjoy it!

Yes, it's kind of like a towel with a hole in the top for the head rest. It does a good job of protecting the seat. It's more for my peace of mind, if I found a tear or pull in the cloth I'd honestly consider replacing the whole seat.
