The Z makes power all the way up to redline, you can stay on it :)

you are thinking of a dual clutch transmission, the Z has a traditional automatic transmission. Also autos weight 41 pounds more. And there is more gears in the automatic tranny (7). and flat foot shifting if its tuned. and :driving:

If you don't know the AT shift faster than the 6mt, you must been living under a rock, never took the Z on the drag and would be gravely disappointed when you line up next to one

Edit: oh wait, you drive a civic

JC-Nismo 07-14-2016 05:26 PM

Well my SRT8 will spin circles around my Nismo all day long with just a tune and CAI, pretty much the same mods I have on my Z. The pull is just night and day, Z's have no torque and straight line performance is not even close. Buy what you like and if you have the money, buy one of each and be INTERNATIONAL, LOL..................

I guess I've become an electric car proponent, but the results are in. The Tesla Model S with Ludicrous option does 0-60mph in 2.6sec. , which BTW is quicker than a new Z06 Vette with 650hp. Just can't get around that 700+ft/lbs torque of electric grunt at all four corners. The "only" downside as I see it is the $100k+ cost. But hey, it's only money. And we are talking bragging rights here...😀

This is true to a point. The point being that I would take any car over the clap any day. LOL

I have to admit though, there's a new white SRT8 Charger driving around town with a nasty aftermarket exhaust that dumps out the stock integrated exhaust tips. Damn that thing sounds good! And I mean really good!

He did a two blip rev at me the other day, I did the same thing back. At the light, he rolled up along side me and said "Sounds good!". I said, "Thanks, but yours sounds better!" We both laughed then I took off on the green arrow.

Well, nice pissing match between Japanese v. American cars.

Japanese cars smoked the American ones in the 80s with a few notable exceptions like the turbo buicks, Syclones, and even in the dismal 80s the Vette was still an icon.

These days not so much. Japanese quality is WAY down. Nissans are ranked among the worst for reliability these days. Chrysler is one of the few that's actually worse than Nissan. I haven't been impressed with recent Toyotas either. GF has a 2011 Highlander that rattles and shakes all over.

If you want to continue the pissing match, let's talk trucks. The Tundra and Titan still don't compare to US models in sales numbers, and only the Tundra competes in build quality. I'll keep my '07 Ram 2500 4x4 Cummins diesel for a LONG time because it's one of the best trucks on the road with the venerable 5.9 Cummins.

But this thread wasn't about all that.....it was about driving impressions, and Dodge builds a dandy car in the Challenger, and I will still call the SRT a performance Icon because right now, the current SRT Hellcat is the baddest thing on the road in the states that's not an exotic.

So carry on.

Especially the first time you try to carry any speed into a corner! It will definitely spin circles...like all the way into the field or into the concrete embankment. But we're obviously not talking about comparing the Z to a giant metal kleenex box (or refrigerator if you will) on wheels at a road course. Which is where the Z makes it's living. The challenger definitely has the Z beat in a straight line and cruising the main strip with your cousin riding shotgun and your badass mullet whilst heavily breathing through your mouth; but I digress. They're such different cars why bother comparing them. One is a sleek, curved, sexy, efficient track oriented aerodynamic sports car. The other is a...well...big rock for hulk smashing things! Buy one of each and have some relief from your inner cousin kissing, inbred backwood hick whenever you want it!

I've hit corners at the same speeds I hit in my Z and I'm still in one piece and so is my car. Does the Z handle better, of course it does, it's suppose to. Instead of bashing cars you've never owned, learn how to phuckin drive something other than your gay azz mouth with that inbred shiit you talking!!!I own both because I CAN and love all cars as true enthusiast do and furthermore I wasn't the one who started the thread so you can divert someone elses DIICK to your mouth PUSSY!!!

Lol my mouth pussy? Or mouth, pussy. That comma kind of matters dude. Doesn't really matter anyway though since all I heard was banjo banjo banjo, missing teeth, banjo with that Joe Dirtmobile talk. Lol you should probably take a step back and realize I was talking about cars and nothing personal against you. If I touched on a sensitive subject for you I apologize. You can't deny that car carries a certain je ne sais quoi in the mullet arena though. But yeah, I stand by my statement. The challenger is heavy as hell and therefore it's handling and braking characteristics are affected. And FYI I do track my Z and my Z33 before it in amateur level competition.
