Anyone Uprev on a 2016?

Went in for my dyno tune today and was able to load base maps (with the new launch control etc) but any changes we made were just overridden by the ECU. Tech figured there must be a Map in there somewhere that was stopping us in our tracks. Figured is see what others success were with these Roms. Apparently it sounds like Nissan changed a lot in 2015 and again 2016 ECU's.

He's going to check with Uprev and see if they can figure it out. In the meantime figured is see if you guys had success or not.

At least I've got a tuner cable now so they can just email me tunes, then go back on the dyno for tweaking once it seems there is some success.

Guess it was a bitter sweet day!

What kind of numbers did you get on the stock pulls?

JARblue 07-07-2016 04:44 AM

I'm not sure he did any stock pulls. He's got a number of bolt-ons installed.

This is very interesting. If I have a second, I'll give the local Uprev office here in Austin a shout and see if Omar has any thoughts on the matter :tiphat:

You might want to request this thread be moved from General Discussion to the Tuning forum in the Tech section :twocents:

No stock pulls. Did baseline pulls without any tuning and got 300-306 whp with Injen CAI, ART pipes and e370 exhaust.

We just couldn't get it to take a tune no matter what. No knocking or anything st all, even disabled the sensors and still couldn't advance timing or anything. My best guess is it is something to do with the cam phasing as they changed that for 15/16 but it's only that, an uneducated guess.

He was going to call and chat with Omar and see if they could figure it out. Hopefully it's something simple Omar knows off hand and has the fix readily available.

This tech seemed really good but as a whole this shop hasn't impressed me much with their follow through so if you do have a second to chat with Omar that would be greatly appreciated.

(Oh and I pondered between putting this thread in Tuning Tech but there isn't a lot of traffic in there so was more hopeful of responses here in General. Maybe it was a good idea maybe it wasn't. I dunno lol)

That's a shame. Please us, or at least me, in the loop on what UpRev says

Uprev said to have your tuner call them directly :twocents:

Excellent, thank you. That is an great reference to have.

Don't suppose they emailed you a copy of the tune I could take a look at by chance hey? :)

Well, apparently that tech doesn't have a clue of what he's doing, just like the rest of that shop.

Just doing some light browsing around the forum, I've read quite a few '15 and '16 Z's being tuned.
