NEED USED Z BUYING ADVICE RE: Mileage

In market for used roadster - this one is EVERYTHING I want - but, a little worried about the 63K mileage on a '13 - should I be? I know that's high vs. average - but, should it scare me away?

This would not be a daily driver - only sunny days. Any/all maintenance will be paid for - I'm not that kind of car guy. This will be my first Z. (driven plenty, owned Zero)

All feedback appreciated!!

63K is a lot of miles. I would keep looking, take your time and you will know when you find the right one.

63K is alot but if the price is right and it drives well, and body is in great shape, why scare a buyer off? I bought my 12 model year Z with 50k on it and she is awesome.. be it said though, she is not my daily driver by any means, ive owned car for 5 months now and havent even put 500miles on her yet. I would keep looking for a lesser mileage but would still keep this car in check if price is right.... just my 2 cents

I bought my 370Z almost brand new but I also bought my "beater" 2009 G37x sedan used with 67K mikes (which has the same engine as my 370z I think) and the car feels strong with no issues. So I say go for it.

Take it to,a trusted shop or trusted mechanic for an inspection before buying it.

Great advice - thank you. My problem is I REALLY want this Midnight Blue/Gray Touring/Sport 7AT combo - and they just don't pop up often/EVER - getting impatient - I would def prefer something in the 30K mile range or less - but...but...

White/Gun Metal/Monterey Blue are all second choices - which are more popular - but, man...

Thanks again...

roadsters are notorious for having canvas problems. read about it.

Mileage wouldn't scare me, as long as the price reflects it... That said
1: how long have they owned the car. Don't want a quick flip or be the 3/4th owner
2: make sure there is a complete maintaince history
3: as already stated roadsters have a lot of soft top problems / be aware!
Good luck!

Don't know much about a Roadster;but has same powertrain as mine.
My 11' just flipped 70k & 61k was in the past 3yrs.
No complaint's,,,wouldn't hurt to see if they offer an extended powertrain warranty-maybe they will throw in 1yr 12k for free.
Make sure the tranny has been flushed at least once & whatever that differential call's for.
That 1st gear is a Hole-Shot 4.92:1

Cars for Sale: Used 2011 Nissan 370Z in Roadster, Mooresville NC: 28117 Details - Convertible - Autotrader
Don't think these are rare; but only 2 pulled up within 200mi of where i'm at?

Just noticed you're in Ohio. When I was looking for my Z ( I'm 40 mi north of Detroit ) I bought mine in Lima Ohio ...... Seems like a ton of Zs there. Auto trader was my source.
Again, good luck!

Spooler 07-04-2016 09:41 PM

That is not many miles for a Z. The top may be an issue though. Inspect it carefully.

nis350 07-04-2016 10:56 PM

it should be fine as long as the car was well maintained and hasn't been abused. the motor and trans should last well over 100k.

get it checked out by a reputable shop.

I had over 250,000 miles on mine, no engine trouble, buy it if it's what you want and everything else checks out. Take it home change every fluid and drive it with a grin on your face.

Louie cat 07-04-2016 11:58 PM

I actually think it is a fair to good deal, looks like it was highway miles according to the carfax. 20k miles a year looks like what it was driven. I would say go for it and try bargaining with the sales dept.
