PSA To those whom may have a FIDANZA Aluminum Flywheel
There have been a few instances brought to my attention with Fidanza model flywheels timing ring bolts coming loose and causing issues. This can damage crank sensors and other items if the bolts do come out.
Trying to be proactive here and help you guys before you have an issue. Any 370Z 350Z G37 G35 Fidanza flywheel could have this issue, These flywheels also come with more recent South Bend SS Street style clutch kits. You can repair this before it happens without pulling the transmission out of the car. On back of the oil pan there is an metal inspection plate in which you can remove to access these bolts. Remove one 10mm head bolt, Remove metal cover, Rotate engine, remove one bolt at a time with an allen wrench, Loctite threads with red high strength loc-tite and reinstall, Turn engine to access next bolt, repeat. This picture is for reference of the location, not a Fidanza flywheel in this pic but shows you where the timing ring is and access point. This is on a HR 350Z but other models are very similar. https://cache.nebula.phx3.secureserv...a-a36beb1b4a5c Fidanza Flywheel Timing Ring Bolts https://cache.nebula.phx3.secureserv...1-68b4df98a023 |
