First dealership I've ever gone to (I think I was 7yrs old) was a Nissan dealership. My aunt was shopping for a car (Maxima), and my dad went as support/negotiator.

Walking through the front doors, there was a white 300zx TT proudly displayed in the center of the showroom. I remember running straight to it, and quickly got in and adjusted my seat. I shouted back at my father "hey daddy look I fit, I can reach the pedals!... lets get this one".

Of course my dad was all kinds of "what the hell are you doing?!", and told me to get out of there. I obviously did not leave with the car... but I did get a brochure.... and that's when the "Z seed" was planted.

Since then, I've always admired the Nissan Z cars. I almost got a '91 red 300zx NA for my first car... but I had a really bad feeling about it, and didn't pull the trigger. The 350z was nice, but it was out of my price range at the time. When the first 370z photo's came out in late '08, early '09... that was it; I had made up my mind about my next vehicle purchase.

Picked up a 71 240z for $500 in the late 80s. Needed some bodywork and a new front winshield but everything else was in top shape. It was my 4th car, put over 100k really hard miles on it. Back in my reckless driving days. Speeded everywhere and evaded more times than anyone would believe. Finally got caught after getting chased, spinning and rolling it. Fixed it, drove it some more and then changed over to a 69 Vette that I had for a couple of decades. I hadn't put many miles on the Vette since I put the second motor in it and bought my truck. I wanted something fun to drive around in that I could drive every day and had air conditioning. My 240Z was the best fitting 2-seater that I ever owned and I love the look of the 370Z. So I researched the hell out of all the cars I liked, made a spreadsheet and the Z came out on top. I've done a few performance mods but nothing that's made it less comfortable as a DD so I'm enjoying the $hit out of it. 58k miles and still looks and runs like new!
And can I say, thank you Japanese reliability!

After I completely rebuilding/restoring a tore up 97 Miata. I got the urge for more speed and power. I also didn't want a car that everyone in the neighborhood had; mustangs, dodges and camaros. Wanted a great, affordable car that not everyone else had. The 370z. On top of a Z fan for a long time. I waited for the right car and price and then made the jump.

Back in 2002 when the Z returned and was the king of the newsstand for a month or so(and after going to a car show to make sure I could fold my 6'5"s into it) I dreamed of a new Lemans Sunset Z for a while until one morning while walking thru the parking garage into work I saw a new silver Z convertible and new it was my bosses new car, she had been going on about trading in her mr2 on a new Miata but when I saw the silver Z I knew it was hers... Got my car magazine cover girl L.S. 350Z that weekend after one test drive(the salesman(son of owner) handed my wife & I the keys and said "curvy roads that way" and pointed. It's possible I was not on my 'A' game with negotiations for that purchase with the drool and all....
Kept 10.5 years, bbk, turbo, explosions, engine rebuilds ,autocross trophies (participation?) and about 1000 laps around Sebring later she still looked nearly new when I traded in for the current MB (with extra B) Z.
I got a free "lifetime" powertrain warranty and plan on keeping her 20 or more years.

I was driving my Hyundai hatchback with the now Ex-Wife and kid in the car going back home from a Sunday drive. I was in the Military stationed at Fort Lewis (Tacoma, Washington) at the time in 1990. Topping a hill crest, there it was infront of me. The most unusual most beautiful sports car I was to behold... I had no clue what it was at the time, but my neck got a crick in it turning all the way back as I passed him. He was certainly enjoying a nice easy ride through the countryside... that was the moment for me. I knew that someday, somehow, I was going to drive one of those... whatsits... Then I found out it was a Z32. Left the Military in 1992 and went to civilian life. In my office, I hung a poster of Steve Millen's Z32 on my wall...

This was my dream till 1998 when I finally could afford a used one - a Twin Turbo Z32...

Kept it till 2005 when I sold it to a friend in the Z Club. Then, waited a few more years and then pulled the trigger on a 2011 370Z... These were very difficult years in between waiting to be able to get another...

Now, I am back in the saddle again with my Z34... Lovin' every minute of it!:driving::tup:

She said "I want you to HAVE this car!"

I had a 77 280Z back in college, but eventually ran out of time and money to keep it, so I had to sell it. Fast forward a few years when the Z33 came out, and I wanted one, but with wife and kid, couldn't afford the impracticality. After my second divorce, I was stuck with a Pathfinder that I didn't need or want.

One day while I was at the dealer getting the oil changed, I saw a Z34 sitting off to the side of the service department. After seeing it was a 6mt with the sport package, I found a salesman and test drove it. I was hooked, it drove way better than the Camaro SS and Mustang GT. Left the Pathfinder there and drove home in the Z. Love this car.

I also had a 77 and love it. Wish I still have it.
