The base Z without VDC enabled will just spin a wheel if you give it gas. i think its pretty safe because you will end up not going anywhere. Not having traction control and having wheels that lock ( LSD ) is when you will find yourself in trouble. This could cause a spin if you are not prepared.

With all that said the Z, especially the base with the 225 size front tires, is more dangerous with all that understeer.

side-note; all the Z examples that blew up or crashed were sport versions :)

I've got a 'Sport' version.

Turned the VDC off a few months ago and never looked back.

Then again, I grew up driving 1970's 911's:tup:

Considering those cars used to actively try to kill their owners, the Z must feel like a video game. The worst deathtrap I've ever been in was a 1970 911.

Never had an issue turning of VDC. The only problem I had was on the Dragon doing the one wheel wonder due to the sorry VLSD. I turned it off in the wet on Saturday morning. It is not a self destruct button. Never had any issues before without any nannies with my 1990 300ttz or any of my other Z's.

"In the wild peacocks have their feathers to attract mates, we as men have the hand brake turn." Jeremy Clarkson. I guess this could be applied to the VDC off wheel spin too!
