Memorial Day

Hope you guys don't mind me posting this here. I would like to take the time to wish all of you a very happy and safe Memorial Day. To all of you who served or serving THANK YOU for your service and sacrifice. A BIG thanks to my dad, who was a WWII vet who fought in the Battle of the Bulge. :usa::usa:

I don't mind at all. If somebody doesn't like you honoring those who served, that's their problem.

With that in mind, instead of starting another thread, I'll just add my "thank you, vets" here.

Same here! All the best to all of our service men here and abroad and all of our veterans! My father and uncles all served in WWII. Dad was with AF bomber groups in the South Pacific, one uncle was Army Infantry with Patton in the Battle of the Bulge and the other was Army Cavalry in South Africa and New Guinea. They are all gone now but we call them the greatest generation for a reason! :tiphat:

Hear hear.
My mother lost two cousins to war, one was an Air Force pilot flying an F-84 over Korea and the other was a Navy Hospitalman who died when his helicopter was shot down coming into an LZ to drop off Marines.

I have cousin on the same side of the family that served on the carrier Eisenhower in the Eighties. He got to go ashore in Lebanon right after the Beirut bombings to serve as a quartermaster. He thought he was serving a hitch in the Peacetime Navy.

Big thanks to all the veterans. Thanks to my great grandfather for his Army service during WWI & WWII. My grandfather for WWII and 26 good years in the Army.

I'm just shy of 7 years in the Army now with 3 deployments to Afghanistan.
