Anybody use one to keep bugs and miscellaneous debris out of the cooling system ?

I made my own out of nylon window screen and Velcro. Works great! I drive a lot at night ( rural) and there are tons of bugs. Been using one for years on my Maxima and 4Runner.

I just bought a piece of aluminum mesh off ebay. Cut, bent, plastic weld, boom

My grille is paying big time right now. We have the 17 year cicadas coming out. The suckers are every where. I have to hose the grille off every time I drive any of my vehicles.

http://www.the370z.com/members/vabam...ke-cooling.jpg Bought it off of customcargrills.com. More specifically got this product in powder coated black: Perforated Hexagon Aluminum Grill Mesh Sheets It is a great product. Installed it over 3 years ago and it has held up very well. I got one of the bigger sheets and cut out what I needed. Then I bent the edges over the inner lip and ziptied it to mounting bases. (like these: 8 Premium Ties & 8 Mounting Bases with Screws) |

Based on what options customcargrills.com currently has I would go with the 24" x 60" so you have plenty of extra in case you mess up and if you need to replace it later on. |
