Q: fuel injector cleaner
Does the fueld injector cleaner really help or just a scam ?
|
Why don't you try? Make sure there is a chemical with acronym "PEA" in the ingredient list; alcohols help too.
|
One of the few that actually do anything is Techron.
|
I like seafoam and Berryman's Chemtool for cleaning the fuel

I use seafoam or BG44 in the tank preceeding an oil change, cant hurt.
|
Most cleaners won't do much good if the injectors are truly dirty. They will help keep the injectors clean (prophylaxis) but won't take much crud out. YMMV

From the fuel yes, also from the concentrate in the bottle.

100 octane unleaded fuel. You can get it at or near race tracks. It is available near me because of go fast boats mostly. It's not cheap about $10 a gallon give or take a few dollars depending on the cost of fuel. Anyway, because of the octane level and additives it will clean your fuel system and increase the engines performance.

You can use it all the time of you can afford it....but I would do it once every six months or so.

I have used the Valvoline and Techron fuel system cleaners and they really worked. Maybe that's because I had used some non-top tier (cheap) low quality gas stations for a while. My strong torque came back immediately after using them.
