There is always going to be better cars out there and that is fine. It all depends on what the driver is wanting. When I had my G35 coupe, I test drove a Mustang GT, great car but it felt like I was pushing a sedan, couldn't feel the road AT ALL. It made me appreciate my G35 even more.
I moved onto a VW MK6 and modded it to be probably one of my favorite cars to have owned. I loved it - very tossable and quick for what it was. It wasn't going to be beating any 'real' sports cars but it was fun with a nice interior. Bc of engine issues LOL - fell into a Z and while I think my GTI is a little more fun to drive - this car is amazing, especially when you keep it up in the high revs - just a fun 'planted' car to drive.

I thought the Mitsubishi evo as a whole was a more fun to drive car than the Z. But you have to drive like you stole something for you to realize it. Lol.

Unrefined to me, gives a car character. The Z and evo are two great cars to own side by side.

Yes sir. The mustang is WACK in terms of FEEL. I never understood the 2010 exodus from the Z to mustang.
Unless you value on paper stats ONLY. There's no comparison.

Never drove an Evo nor a STI but I almost thought about a 2015 WRX and then a light tune to make it fun but again, drove the Z and just liked the whole package overall. I'm single so 2 seats fit me fine and gives me an excuse NOT to be the one that drives everyone to lunch LOL.

One thing that I think car manufacturers are missing on is that most 'drivers' like and enjoy feeling the road; and all the magazines seem to bash cars that are like this - with the exception of the BMW ;)

That is why I loved my G35 coupe and why after doing some suspension mods - loved the GTI and why I currently love my Z. I want to feel the road and that seems to be lost on people.

Amen and hallelujah about reviewers celebrating cars with no feel. That's where I've been lost with cars that have no feel. It's amazing how discussing feedback in 90% of reviews has now diminished. I remember when feedback was a third of the experience with car reviewers. Amazing.

The jaguar F-Type R is in the front running for me because jaguar discovered how to have full on feedback on electric steering.

And Mercedes amg GTS is King because it has hydraulic steering. I wish all AMG cars had it!!!

Everything else pains me to dive into a purchase.

Porsche 911
BMW M2
Corvette
Camaro
Mustang
Q60 coupe

All cars I think are hot right now. But are too expensive to have lost their sensory feature for fuel economy. Maybe many are still willing to sell out the full on driving experience for everything else like power and seat of the pants performance. Me personally. I want all or nothing.

The Z May be inferior to every car I mentioned. But every sensory feature of this car is strong in its character. And it's a 1g car. I'll keep mine.... thanks!!

Its like what everyone says - the Z is a car that is NOT for everyone. Simply put, I told myself that after I purchased it because I wasn't sure if it was going to be for me and I needed to purchase something quickly so I promised myself - 1 year and if it didn't work - I would move onto another hot hatch.

After 9mo of owning it and making it my DD - my only regret is not getting one that was slightly newer as well as a little less miles on the ODO. Overall, this car has been great to own and still gets looks. While it might be a little long in the tooth as far as body styling and engine - it's still one of the best looking and balanced performing cars out on the market for the price. I'll be keeping mine as well ;)

"It sounded like a Tyrannosaurus Rex" would have been a nice compliment. But she ends that sentence with "continually passing gas". And yet a broken down camaro has charm?

I also particularly liked this quote, knowing it is a VSR build: "the tune is wrong" :eekdance:

I think that speaks to the personality type of the writer more than it does to the car. As Steely Dan put it, "... another negative girl." Or perhaps going for cheap laughs. :)

Still, I think she was mostly bemoaning the fact she didn't mod the car to those specs herself, but rather bought it that way; she's honest about that.
