Key Programming

Tried to do a quick search on this and I couldn't find a good answer.

I bought a 370z key off of Ebay. Do I absolutely 100% HAVE to go to a Nissan dealership to get it programmed? There is no way to do it yourself?

thanks!

I believe some locksmiths can do it for a few bucks less than the stealership.

Don't see how a locksmith would be able to program the key fob.

I had mine done at a lock smith, cost about $75.00. Best thing you could do instead of cold canvasing is look up lock smiths in you area and call and ask. I am very positive you will score.

I just took the extra coverage here at the dealer. I get 2 replacement keys a year. At my local dealer it's 85

From that link, the first one doesn't do 370, the next one does only 09-10, the third one just says Nissan. Thanks SouthArk..... now I have a new project to research...:shakes head:

For the Key Fob has to be done by the Nissan Dealer unfortunately which is like $130.

Even to cut the key and have it programmed cost me like $90 for my daughter's Versa...
