shorty headers and resonated test pipe gains?

What kind of gains can i expect with short tube headers and resonated test pipes without a tune. I will be getting it tuned soon after the exhaust is installed.

Which shorty headers you instaling?

Probably lose power. Merge collector is complete garbag and the furthest thing from smooth.

Long tubes or don't waste your time putting headers on the car

:iagree: except the Momentum shorty headers. There were guys on here getting gains on par with long tubes using these plus test pipes.

were tests done with same test pipes in both short/long headers?

You don't use test pipes with long tube headers. As far as results go, do a search. A number of members on here have posted dyno charts for the momentum headers.

Most aftermarket headers for 370Z are known to yield little to zero gains. It's expensive, labor intensive, and just not worth it at the end of the day. As some mentioned, the LTH is the only header that seems to have SOME gains, nothing crazy. Our factory headers are solid and even comes with heat shield.

I would just leave the stock header on and invest in a test pipe or HFC:twocents:

According to FI's site:

"Torque and horsepower numbers were dyno tested against a 2009 Nissan 370Z equipped with FI High Flow Cats & FI TDX Cat Back Exhaust. We gained an average of 8 rear wheel peak horsepower. Throughout the RPM band we saw a maximum increase of 15 rear wheel horsepower & 18 foot pounds of torque."

Not entirely convinced 15 RWHP is worth $1375 plus shipping though. I suppose if I run out things to do with my Z, FI LTH would be first on my list.
