Price Check on my Z?

I'm not selling my Z, and not planning on it anytime soon, just pretty curious what my car would go for :icon14:

2010 Brilliant Silver 370Z, Sport Package, 6 Speed, 19000 Miles, Clean title, Drives fine

I'd like a rough estimate

This is a good place to start and spot on if you're honest with answering the questions. I would guess with low miles and if the body is on good condition and no wrecks you're looking between $19,000 to $20,000.

Kelley Blue Book - New and Used Car Price Values, Expert Car Reviews

I was planning on trading my car in on something else that I really didn't need and mine was appraised at $21,500. 2014 base with a spoiler and no other modifications with 27,000 miles on it.

edub370 04-12-2016 07:41 AM

its not pleasant looking at kbb for these cars...

Try NADA as well.

I was going to sell my car at some point but when I realized how bad the resale value was on it... Didn't even bother.

Why is the resale value so bad?

I've been trying to figure that out myself!

Tried selling last year for a few months and had 1 interested party that test drove and wanted to buy but didn't get approved for a loan.

Then took it off the market because the wife loves it and doesn't want to part with it.

Honestly you guys think that is bad resale value? The 2016 model year is out and 2017's coming soon and his car is still a $20K car being 6 years old. It's not a classic Ferrari. I have a Touring Sport I got with an $8k discount & if mine is worth $20k when it's paid off I will feel pretty good about it. Can't imagine a lot of other cars with much better resale value.

What're you talking about dude.. i can name a plenty. EVO STI 350ZHR were not talking about your finance lol, resale value is resale value and it sucks.

Austonian 04-13-2016 03:56 PM

No surprise, Impractical is an ongoing theme for the Z.

What are you talking about.....and what does my financing have anything to do with ****? In 6 years it will still be worth $20k. I paid $34k for mine. So if mine is still worth 20k in 2020 I will be happy with that. My financing along with everyone else's has nothing to do the actual price you paid for the car. That is the price of not paying cash. Name these cars, show me.....Nissan resale isn't as bad as it's made out to be. I just bought a 2015 Frontier for $25k & traded it back in and got $20k for it after a year. So basically I leased it for a year for $5k. If I only lose $14k on a 6 year span I am not crying. It's not a rare Ferrari which is about the only cars that go up in value after purchase. Your buying a 2 seat sports car which isn't at the top of most peoples practicality list. The cars I see you trying to compare it to are 4drs or AWD 4cyl cars which are more purchasable for most being the kids can sit in the back. What's the resale loss % of a 2 seat sports car like a Miata or Porsche or Corvette? You have to place the car in it's bracket, not in a family friendly type car.

If you think your car is going to be worth 20k in 6 years I'm sorry man, you're clearly smoking something. Google it, those cars I just listed above hold they're resale value, a hawkeye STI 80k driven 2007 is going for 19-22 a EVO 9 same mileage goes for 20/23 same for the HR. Go look at the #s on the cars before you talk, the 370z value depreciates at a quick pace. You can find a 13-14 10-20k miles with sport for 19-22k

Bought my former 2011 Z for $29,700 in 2011. Sold it just a week ago for $22000 so not bad for 4 year old car.

Well WRX's are a dime a dozen and a 4dr so no it doesn't fall into the same category & a quick search on eBay alone brought up plenty of them in the years you speak selling for $10-15K. Again with the Evo also. 4dr car period. Not in the same class as a 2dr Sports car. Try again. Also not to bring it up but we were talking about a 2010 Nissan value at $20k.

Did you not see the part where I said STI.... Also i was talking about resale value of any general vehicle not the Z, what is a sports car ?? The STI is a 4dr sedan yet it out handles the z and is faster from the dig, stock.

If we are comparing 2 door cars then yes I guess selling a car half the price you baught it for a few years later is. "Ok"

I agree with the faster from a dig, but the outhandling part can be contested....2015 wrx sti lateral grip as tested by car and driver is 0.98g....lateral grip for the Z as tested by motor trend in 2009 is 0.99g :)

Well no,6 years later and it dropped by $14k and if you don't think 99% of other cars wouldn't have the same devaluation after said years your delusional & you keep throwing the same cars up but they are family sedans which should be able to sell faster & better being exactly that a 4dr sedan & not a 2dr/2 seat car. Not in the same category at all or even close.

I also forgot that I lumped the STI in with the WRX in the quick search and there are plenty of nice STI's that sold in the range I spoke of. Again as stated by the book value his car is at $20k & is pushing 7 years old. What makes you believe if his car is worth that now & mine being the fully equipped model wouldn't be worth the same over the same period of time? But back to my point. You are trying to use 2 cars that are in fact 4dr/4seat/AWD cars against a 2dr/2 seat/RWD car. Not the same at all. Your cars can be purchased by families and winter snow drivers. I don't consider a Z to be a good winter snow car at all. Then take away 2 doors & 2 seats and the buyer pool shrinks even more. Unless you magically took 2 seats & 2 doors and AWD away from the STI/EVO then we could talk the same type of car(BRZ). Then you would be crying about the motor being under powered for a 2dr/2 seat sports car costing $30+K. The comparison you should be looking at is a Juke Turbo AWD or Maxima or a G series for that matter.......sticker on the STI with Leather is $41k ($42k on my Z) not sure bargaining price on Subaru's.
