Curbs/Driveways

Those of you that have to get onto a curb to pull into your driveway, what was your solution? I'm buying a house and although getting the Z up the driveway was a concern I couldn't let it rule out a house. I have nismo so the ground effects make it harder as it plus boosted performance kit (turbo under car) so I'm really worried about scraping when pulling in or out.

Sounds to me like the house isn't the right and or perfect house. Keep looking!

JARblue 04-11-2016 02:54 PM

Your best chance to do it without scraping is an extreme angle entry :twocents:

Or get something like this:

The housing market in Denver is insane that's definitely not an option!

Buy a few bags of the cold asphalt and build a small ramp at the bottom of your drive. Done!

mishuko 04-11-2016 03:42 PM

super angles and taking your time.

unfortunately for me I'm on a hill and also incline on my driveway. if someone is on either side of my house I'm going to scrape the front chin a bit.

imho drive to the house and try get in and out ;) just pretend you were doing a 3-point turn ahhaha

Hell, I've been angling into driveways for so long, I sometimes do it when not necessary;)

Back in on an angle, and come out at an extreme angle

I suggest setting up shop in the Netherlands or Luxemborg. Very low. All good stuff.

I enjoy it plenty! Forced induction is an even bigger advantage up here!

I have a 2015 nismo and my drive way is steep with the curb .....I don't scRap when I come in at a angle ....just have to take it slow and I always get one tire off the ground for a second or two

You could try contacting your Denver Regional Building Authority and ask if they would allow you to have the curb broken out, width of your driveway. Then have a short section repoured up to your driveway. Worth a shot, wouldn't cost that much considering

I have to take a fairly big angle to get on my driveway without scrapping my front in. I do what I have to do to minimize scraping. 90% of the time I pull in and out of my driveway in such a angle that I run over 1 or 2 ft of lawn grass. I said it before and will say it again. Screw the grass; it can die! Save the ride!

Two years ago I tore out my old driveway and re-poured it. I have a nice, smooth transition from the driveway to the street which is Z-car friendly...

I have to back in at a pretty steep angle. Unfortunately if the family wagon isn't right I've got to move it to make the angle.

Have no problem with my driveway, but every single alley is an issue--they all require a sharp angle and creeping into the road while listening for scraping. A friend has a house with driveway that's steep and has a sharp angle near the street, no way I can make it. A typical curb ramp wouldn't help, he'd have to re-pour or get permission to install grates (much cheaper). The main grate has the bars at a diagonal for bikes, the wings angle down so bikes can ride over them and not get the front wheel stuck. Definitely need approval for that, but it's a reasonable solution.

Z in the 6 05-05-2016 09:57 AM

I just lowered my Z 1 inch on swift springs and now I scrap going out of my driveway and reversing out isn't really an option as I have to drive between my place and my neighbours house with only about an inch of clearance on both sides... not sure what the solution is yet, maybe ill just move lol

WI_Hedgehog 05-06-2016 05:08 PM

JRI makes air lift setups that don't change spring rate, and there's someone who makes hydraulic. I haven't checked into them for the Z, but know they exist for quite a few toys.

I think you can take help from some professional paving contractors. They can help you with your issue. Recently my neighbor also got similar problem, but without wasting time he contacted one the best paving contractors in Queens. I think they can definitely help you with this issue.
