I am curious if this offer extends to VA (Hampton Roads area)? What about the base + sports package?

Temple 01-05-2009 12:44 PM

That is a killer price! Looks like sport, touring. Wonder if it is brand new. Miles on it?

edit: looks like 17 miles on it...

r6addict 01-05-2009 03:10 PM

oh! I see that now. I was mistaken. -- That is an awesome deal. my local dealer has that exact car in red with 7MT for 41K OTD... DIBS! Time to drive to MD.

SHIFT_Z 01-05-2009 03:11 PM

does any1 know how the taxes work if you buy a car out of state? Do you have to pay the taxes up front to your state or can you still add it to the price of the car?

I bought my current car at a CarMax in MD and I live in VA. They took care of everything including paying the taxes for me and adding it to my loan. I even went back there to pick up my VA plates. I had to get the VA inspection done myself but that wouldn't be required on a brand new car.

Edit: I didn't mean they payed the taxes/title fees for me out of their own pocket. I mean that they took care of all the paperwork and making the payment to VA and bundled all the costs into the final cost of the car which was obviously a few grand higher than the sticker price.

Turtle 01-05-2009 04:22 PM

No you dont have to be from MD....you can buy up there and still pay VA sales tax. When I lived in MD I bought from VA.

That's odd, I've heard the exact opposite. You pay the taxes when you register the car back in your home state. Also, what if the taxes are different in your home state? How do they decide what tax % to use?

It's usually up to the dealer. I've bought multiple vehicles from out of state. Some did everything for me and some had me register the car myself at the DMV. No big deal either way. Carmax usually takes care of it for you though....

Whomever buys this will get one hell of a deal!

The Geek 01-05-2009 09:50 PM

When purchasing a car out of state, you purchase the car for the asking price, then once you are back in state pay your state taxes, title, registration, etc.

Some (not all) dealerships will add in the tax for you, but its your state tax not theirs (if they are out of state).

WooZ 01-05-2009 09:56 PM

Oh man, what a deal. If it was in CA, I'd be at the store now.

Just want to let everyone now I made the deal with this car. :) :) :)

I do live in California, but the shipping (only $750) with a private shipper was still well worth the cost... It should be arriving here before or near the beginning of Feb. The only cons buying it over here was that there is shipping cost and that I have to fly over there next week to just fill out all the paper work, but after weighing out the options I went ahead with this deal.
My options were either getting this car at around 34,800... or getting the same exact car here near my area at +1k above sticker at like 39,800... So after doing all the math.. pretty much flying out there is 20 hours out of my time roundtrip.. plane ticket plus shipping came out to around $1000, but overall sacrificing my time would save me around 4k...

would you of done the same thing? haha

 awesome. I see what you did there ;). You got a great deal IMO. Did they give you any problems? Many people were saying they are just attracting people with that price.

Don't forget to post your price in this sticky http://www.the370z.com/new-370z-owne...0z-sticky.html

and the discussion thread as well here
