anybody using California Duster
Ive seen these forever and thought it was a bunch of BS.. years later MB Z
and its covered all the time but this time year oaks are yellow dusting everything. Got one and dammn if its doesnt work. Think it was $15. |
I use one every now and then but only when there's light dust on the car. It helps a bit but I wouldn't recommend using it to clean tree sap, bird poop or thicker stains, altought you should be fine getting rid of that yellow dusting
|
I keep detail spray and a good micro firbar cloth close by to handle those jobs!

I have one that I use occasionally to remove light dust/pollen... I was pretty hesitant about these until I watched Junkman's video on the subject. It really does come in handy.

use it all the time before put on the car cover. it works well with just dust, but nothing that sticks to the paint.
|
I use one almost every day in between washes, only as long as it's a light coat of dust/pollen. I've been using these dusters for the past 6+ years.

The pollen is terrible right now here in Fl. I use mine every time I get home & pull the Z in the garage. It works great.
|
I stopped using it. There is build up in the fibers that I cannot trust it. Some say you wash it but it becomes less effective. So for me, I don't use it. In the end it is for your car not mine or anyone else's.
|
I have used one for many years on all the cars that I have owned. They work great on light dust and pollen, however my cars are not driven in the rain.

Yes.

yes, its called the Duster for this very reason

The California Car Duster, The tool that revolutionized automotive detailing over 25 years ago has never been surpassed. Nothing else can make a dusty or pollen covered vehicle look freshly washed faster or more efficiently.

Had one and stopped using it. It was leaving marks on the paint like swirls.

you'll understand that those assbackwards instructions will get you into a lot of less than thrilling looking paint. seriously. |

he's enthusiastic that's for sure. what he preaches is technique not product. by destroy he probably means swirls or micro swirls that you won't see unless super close and what not. his videos portrays him as a bit of a polish perfectionist  I would go as sweeping as to say the dirtier the cleaning tool the more potential you have to damage your clear coat. microfiber or duster or whatever it may be. I think we're all on the same boat that we want are cars to look spotless and shiny :icon17: Quote:
