battery charging

Only use the Z on nice weekends. Therefor the car will sit depending on the weather. I use a deltran battery tender, but have been told by some locals to switch out for the Battery minder brand. Supposedly de-sulfates the battery as it charges. Wondering if anyone here has experience with the minder brand especially the 1510 model? If this has been covered please direct me,I couldn't find anything. Thanks

I've used the battery tender for years on my Z, boat, tractor, zero turn lawn mower, & truck (9 years same battery) w/ no problems, however l don't know about de- sulferisation. Hope this helps.

As long as the battery is staying charged and you don't have some evidence that your present charger is harming your battery, I wouldn't worry about it.

There is at least one thread on this site that discusses the different types of chargers, charging rates, &c. Figure out what you want and get that if/when the Deltran unit fails or you notice problems.

I parked my Z first of November. I started it for the first time yesterday (4.5 months) and it started right up. And that's with the original battery from 2012.
A week or two? I wouldn't worry about a battery tender.
