uprev tune tomorrow!

So I will be going in for my tune tomorrow morning (jdsmotoring in keyport NJ 9 am) if anyone wants to also see what goes on. Anyways with the invidia cb, berk resonated TP, k&n SR intakes... how noticeable was your power when you tuned it? Did the exhaust note change? What maps did you do in you 7 speed auto? Real excited to get this done

Congratz on getting the tune done. Out of curiosity, why are you going with upRev instead of EcuTek?

I'll try to help as much as I can however I did all my mods with a tune at the same time so i cant compare and contrast mods pre/post tune. However the biggest changes i noticed was throttle response, if they tune that part of course. Although you cant feel the change, the A:F ratio was tweaked which you could only tell on the dyno.

I have 4 MAPS 2 with aggressive 91 octane, one with adjustable traction control the other with factory traction control

and the other 2 are conservative 91 with the same traction control set up as the first 2. Being able to adjust the sensitivity of the traction control is nice.

Also the fans come on earlier to help cool the engine/oil. Thats about as much that is worth mentioning. This is of course with EcuTek. Not familiar with upRev that much

I have a 7AT too btw. Stillen CAI, FI CBE 18" res and EcuTek

Yes you'll definitely notice a change in tone from the exhaust. Especially on start up, also the throttle response is much more aggressive and you'll feel the car pick up a lot quicker. I also have fans come on sooner and you can delete your rev limiter and speed limiter I set mine to 7800rpm and 300mph lol. Also I hope you're not paying a lot for the tune I got mine for $300. Uprev proRace.

Thanks for the reply, I greatly appreciate it! So I've been looking and reading for uprev vs ecutek... tbh it's a VERY HARD that I honestly just flipped a coin for. I've read mixed reviews about ecutek alot better, and ecutek is the same as uprev with a little bit more technology behind it...and blah blah I saw alot of people on the forum running this tune so that also just said get it. I think the ecutek costed 100$ more I'm not sure that was another thing also, I'm not a cheapo but hey at the end of the day a tune is a tune, right?

Nice, I'm very excited about the tune... couldn't sleep yestersay while watching videos it's going to be shwweeeetttt... and 300???! How did you get that one? My tuner is costing 650. I saw the range for these tunes go from 600-800 (dyno tuned of course )

In all honesty I haven't heard of EcuTek. If you ask for my personal input I would assume they are virtually the exact same thing. I mean if they can both crack your cams open, turn on fans sooner, modify fuel input and intake ratios etc etc then what difference is there really? Just a brand name if you ask me along with reputation.

You end up with a similar debate when comparing apple products with Samsung. Everyone is hyped with Apple and everyone believes it's better but in the end a phone is a phone and that's that. Or how much better is a stillen G3 intake system than a Injen long tube set up? They're virtually the same right?

So why did I choose Uprev? It was the first thing available to me with a phenomenal price :) simple haha I didn't even research it which is probably unwise but in the end I am very satisfied and I know I got hooked up for sure haha. Either way man I'm sure they're both great products I mean if you can actually squeeze out more power for $100 more I definitely would haha the best thing to do is get a Z with Uprev and one with EcuTek and make sure they have the same set up in performance parts and race them :) haha. Sorry for the extensive response brother.

Awe dude you will not regret it I promise you that for sure haha I was told that the race tune wasn't released yet and was supposed to go for $1400 but idk anymore haha either way $300 is a good price and I got mine from a guy who was promoting it and well it's sweet as hell man haha. I'd say give your car a little adjustment period and your self too. The car is not gonna be what you're used to man it's totally different :)

with dyno + license you're looking at 600+ iirc

I think the major difference between uprev / ecutek is that ecutek has made some strides for e85.

if you're N/A I don't think there is any noticeable differences...

I can't wait to get mine tuned either... once spring rolls around!

You guys are making me even more pumped AF!!! I'll definitely be posting up my dyno sheet on this thread so people with same mods can see what this monster pulls.. hopefully all goes well, and hopefully I'll have a better understanding of all the different maps (still a scrub)
