Do not do it, it will mess up the EVAP and will not pass inspection.
Will cost a lots of $$$ to replace.

On some cars, this is a big issue. On others, not so much.

I thought my LED light was broken...

Sometimes overfill a bit but still won't light up. It kinda annoys me.

I'll "overfill" to the next quarter so I don't get odd change back and won't have to wipe gas from my paint. not worth it otherwise.

@badboy and gord

If I recall there was an issue with some fuel gauges not reading properly and there was a fix. aka pull out the wallet

Yep, had a few of those, but mine were under warranty still. :)

I will usually round up to the next dollar. :tiphat:

kenchan 02-01-2016 12:45 PM

i just fill to the click.

i can see people wanting to round up to the nearest dollar though if paying cash. ive not touched a coin in yrs. lol

Fuzzzy 02-01-2016 01:45 PM

I use a credit card with 5% cash-back for gas, so I fill to the next 20c. A penny saved ...

MagmaRed370z 02-01-2016 10:37 PM

I haven't heard anybody say that they have problems with overfill.

That's because your fuel sending unit is on its way out

I've filled to the dollar so many times that the FIRST time I filled to .63, they put a fraud alert on my card.

You know... It's because it WAS fraud, lol
Even at a gas station I go to. The credit card company said it was out of the norm

damn that's awesome that they caught that so quickly.

any road trip I make I always make an effort to call ahead to let them know I'm travelling so don't freeze my card!

Are you one of those guys that like to overfill your tank? I sometimes fill it up and put an extra half gallon in there. Am I harming anything? I know some people here that top it all the way full. Just wondering if it's a myth or what.

I tried searching inside the forum and couldn't find a thread about this specifically.

i wouldnt do that, you're basically paying for the gas to go back into the pump when you do that. I just posted this on fb a few months ago http://www.turbosociety.com/in-the-n...important-tips

Front all the posts I've read, overfilling your gas should't be any harm. Since I mostly fill with a card, I like to bring it to the next dollar or 50 cent. For example, if it fills to $34.76, I would add another $0.24 in the gas. If it gets full at $34.21, I would fill it up $0.29 more :ugh2:
