What do you do with all your leftover stock parts?
Mine are piling up and I don't have much space to store them... Does anyone buy up this stuff? Parts recyclers?
I've come to the conclusion that my car will never go back to stock.. so I don't feel compelled to keep them, but I assume they must have some value. I've had the factory exhaust from my 2011 (pour one out... ) on craigslist for months with no bites... now that I have gone TT with my 2013 I have WAY more to get rid of. I assume trying to sell all this stuff to single private parties will take forever. What do YOU do? |
Post a for sale thread on the forum and some always sell and some never do and you would recycle or scrap.
Ex. Shift Knob/CAI/ Interior parts/ Body Kit - w/o wear and tear SELLABLE Base/Sport Exhuast- Scrap metal except for tips. Nismo Exhuast - possible you can sell for like $200-$300 |
i usually keep the stock bits until the day i sell the car.
but sometimes i get lazy and just sell the car and later I need to make space so i take it to this city run recycling center. last time i took some car parts (springs, door, hood, trunk lid, exhaust, etc) they weighed it and gave me like $10 for everything. :rofl2: i gave it to the guy who helped me out as tip. i just wanted to clear out my storage area..and i know my garbage truck guy would never take big things on the edge of my driveway. :shakes head: |
local nissan recycler is a good bet depending on the part,,anything is better than scrap value.

Nothing stock is worth good money, post them up on here in exchange for beer and karma points, if you don't get any hits, trash

I gave away my stock intakes to a local member in need and traded my stock exhaust plus cash for FI from another local member who was trading in.
I still have a few small misc stock parts that I will likely get rid of when I need the room :twocents: |
Im saving mine to swap aftermarket part when im ready to sell the ride.
Z1 motorsports by some parts like OEM cats for 60$ and OEM cpu. |
Forgot to also mention...
After I installed the Z1 CSC Elimination Kit I sent my 51K mile and still working CSC to a fellow forum member who cut it open to reveal the poorly designed, failure-prone inner workings :ugh2: |
What do you do with all your leftover stock parts?
I sold the ones I thought worth it and threw the rest away. If the G ever gets sold its as a turbo car cuz I'm not uninstalling the kit.

Tried to donate my **** but no hits in bumfuck TN. Have an exhaust that has a family of rats living in it out behind the shop and a rear tire with about 4000 miles in the attic. Someday i'll drag the crap to the dump.

Thanks Jerry |
I have stock exhaust, cats, suspension, sways, brakes, pedals, that needs to be thrown away. It just takes too much space. if anybody lives in central texas come pick them up!

I try and save all my stock parts if I have the space for them. Even though today I see no way of me ever getting rid of my Z tomorrow is another day and things change. Stock parts have almost 0 value off the car and aftermarket parts have almost 0 value on the car. If one I do want or need to sell my Z I can put it back to stock and part out the aftermarket parts for more money then the stock ones could have ever hoped to sell for.

In my opinion, I've always habe the mindset of " I won't ever sell my car blah blah blah" and now, I want to sell it for than Evo X. I have some stock part but now all due to the fact that I sold them. Depending on your price, people do look for stock parts believe it, or not it just takes time.
My stock catback was listed for $100 and a guy who was parting out his car had an FI Exhaust and we a trade with $600 on my side. My OEM intakes was listed for $100 and had few bites but decided to keep it for future purposes. My OEM sport spoiler sold for $50 ( It had a crack in it so thats why it was so cheap ) and eBay sells a rep one for like $150 shipped and painted so I was ball parking my price My front and rear and radio was sold to a guy for his Kennwood headunit Parts come and go. You just gotta be patience with it. :ugh2: |
