What to do with my Z this spring????
I am giving myself till the end April to think about it, by then I should have about 15,000 to execute the plan regardless of
what my decision is. Really just toying with all of these ideas. The Options: 1) Do a build on the Z, it is 370z / manual / with sports package. Here is what I am thinking of doing. Priced out via Z1 Motorsports: VQ37VHR 400HP Package ARK Nissian 370Z GRIP True Dual Exhaust System Burnt Tip Stillen short throw shifter Nismo R-Tune Cold Air Intake (Long Tube) KW Variant 1 Coilover Kit Z1 370Z (Sport) Brake Upgrade whiteline sway bars dyno tune oil cooler new radiator rear camera fair lady rear light Seats Tires 2) Just do the Tires / Seats / Exhaust. 3) Purchase a new Mustang GT, why, better money for the cash vs. buying a nismo, like the nismo. Would get the Mustang with the GT Performance Package and the Recaro Seats, Also having access to Ford X Plan helps a bit. 4) Purchase a 240z or Z32 non-turbo or 350z 5) Spend the money on various driver schools so interested in your thoughts and comments |
Is the Z your DD?
|
you can call it that, but I only put 5000 miles on it the past year, it has about 42000.
|
Option 1 or build a 240Z.
|
I'm assuming your Z is paid off. The 370z is a blast when modded correctly. Some simple N/A mods and some suspension is perfect for a fun twisty driver. It's the little things imo that make the Z so fun.
This is a hard question to answer only because you know what you want. Are you looking for a car for the track? Are you looking for something with a lot of power? Are you going to keep this Z and add another car to it? |
Any particular reason your going with Nismo intakes instead of Stillen Stage III and Z1s intakes?
|
....Boost?
|
Do modest mods and tire and save your money for the next generation Nismo. It should be boosted and have more power.
|
Going to keep the Z, upset enough when I see pics of the 240Z, I let go..
Little bit of track / little bit of power never have done something like this, so I am playing with the ideas |

Option 5 Driver schools. The experience gained will last a lifetime and can be built upon and applied to all cars you'll own going forward. And without knowing your age, it could open doors to a part or full time career opportunity. Skip Barber has a whole series you can participate in after their three day school and two extra classes.
I do a bunch of track days and even I am thinking of taking this year off and saving up some money to do a full race school. |

I have been doing the SCCA Starting Line schools for the past several years with the Z, my biggest problem has also been my right foot.... |
Well I have doing some more thinking on this.
3) Purchase a new Mustang GT, why, better money for the cash vs. buying a nismo, like the nismo. Would get the Mustang with the GT Performance Package and the Recaro Seats, Also having access to Ford X Plan helps a bit. 4) Purchase a 240z or Z32 non-turbo or 350z These two options are pretty much have been eliminated. Thanks all for the inputs |
Dude it's your car do with it what you want, "use your own vision" now that being said..
I know what I would do with if I had the money.. I would TT the car.. |
with all that listed on the first option, im surprised u havent included doing the csc replacement to aftermarket first.
anyway, i would do stiffer front swaybar, exhaust, and tires. GL |
