Curiosity on Leftover Engines

I was wondering if there's anybody, or anyplace that buys "blown" engines. Mine had a rod bearing spun out and was caught extremely early. I'm pretty sure it's salvageable and good for a project. I'm just curious with the subject, I live in a pretty small town so I figured there's tons of missed information out there.
