2013 370z for 2007 Corvette Base coupe..

There is a pristine 2007 Corvette Base with under 20k miles for sale at a local dealer for about $28k. I have a 2013 sports 370z with 30k miles on it.

Should I trade?

If yes, how much would I pay over my car?

While it's much faster than my Z car, my understanding is that the ride may not be as good for a daily commute.

Opinions?

bad idea

Don't do it as someone that had 2 C-6 models I can tell you first hand that these cars are junk. I had an 09, and 12 both had electrical problems that the dealerships could not correct. How often do you exceed 150mph or take your car to the track these are the only times you will notice the extra power.

I'd keep the Z over an older C6, honestly. C7, no contest, but I think the Z makes a better DD than the C6.

My ex, who I was with for several years, had an 06 Vette that she bought brand new. Had that car for 4 years and aside from the rear diff bearing recall that the dealer fixed for free the car never had a single problem. That being said I wouldn't trade a 370z towards a base C6 LS2 vette. I had my 09 370z touring sport during the last part of her Vette ownership and never once was envious. However the Vette was faster, easier to launch, and cornered more flat than the 370z. The 370z overall cornered better, tighter, and had better traction in the corners; less traction off the line from a dig though. From a DD standpoint the vette is great as a DD. The Z is slightly better from a comfort suspension standpoint. However compared to my 2010 NISMO the Vette was so much better. The NISMO isn't the best DD. While I never complained about it there is an obvious difference compared to the Vette. And no one liked riding in my NISMO for long distances; not that I had many passengers.

Now compared to my 2012 Grand sport Vette, I'd take the Vette any day. Much faster, corners better at low speed or high speed, traction is better, and overall just a better car. Not to say there aren't a few advantages to the Z but from a performance standpoint the grand sport is superior. From a comfort standpoint a standard 370z is just as good. The NISMO would be inferior.

What was said about not noticing the power compared to the Z is false from my point of view. No offense. It's not hard to notice the different in the Vette vs. the Z. While you'll never appreciate the Vette or the Z's true performance potential on the street, you can definitely appreciate the difference between the two cars. The torque of the V8 is just truly amazing.

If you really want a vette get a Grand sport or Z06. Otherwise keep the Z. The Z is a great car in it's own respect.

:iagree: a grand sport vette is the better option.

It's not an option I have here. It's a 2007 Vette base with low miles.

I know I'm just saying..I'll keep the Z than have a base corvette.

Apples and Oranges man, get what you like and be happy with it.

:iagree: This. You're comparing two very different cars. Personally, I would never trade a Z in for a base Corvette that is already going on 8 years old. On top of that, I am not a huge fan of American cars and Corvettes are a dime a dozen around me. Everyone and their grandpa (literally) has a Corvette.

I love the Z's exclusivity :driving:

Somewhat rare, sure, but in no way is the Z "exclusive." ;)

I made a thread about this awhile back about how the Corvette is a dream car of mine and money is no issue with getting one, but I honestly don't think the C7 looks better than my Nismo. On top of that I'll see a 1000 C7's before I see 1 Nismo on the road here here in GA. I'll get one eventually, but right not I'm fighting the demons.

Exactly. Having a car that is sort of rare to be seen, adds to the fun of owning it. Your car isn't so "cool" if you drive around and see half a dozen other cars like yours. :ugh2:
