TWM shifter shipping issue

Guys,

My wife, being the awesome woman that she is, ordered me a shirt shifter from TWM for Christmas. We typically open one present a little early, so I got to check it out today and I have some concerns.

It looks like my package was opened, rummaged through and taped closed.

I searched online and saw pictures or how twm generally packages their stuff and it's obvious that either someone went through this carelessly because I can't imagine twm would send something to me like this. Bag ripped open. Instructions hanging out. This isn't even in the typical TWM box.

Also, all the shifters I've seen bare the TWM markings on the actual shifter itself, but mine doesn't. I've reached out to TWM for input this evening and hope to hear back soon. At this point I'm not sure what to think. All the hardware was loose and rolling around in the box. I'm not even sure if everything needed to install is here. Could anyone shed some light on what may have happened here? Anyone have a contact for TWM?

The contents do look disturbed and not as if they were ready for shipping. Most companies I know that properly package things bubble wrap it to hell and back and then tape the bubble wrap closed. Looks like in picture 3 that the bottom left corner of the bubble wrap seems to be torn a bit.

TWM also comes with bearing their mark as all authentic products do. I have found a couple picture of how TWM packages and secures things.

I would definitely call TWM, here is their website link:
Short Shifters | TWM Performance Short Shifter Store

Edit: Open up my 2nd picture and look at your 4th and 5th picture. The bottom circle is smaller on the picture in mine compared to yours. Also there is no washer at the top on a TWM shifter. It looks like someone has opened the package and replaced the TWM product with some other off brand.

^^ That was what I expected to see when I opened the box. I did call TWM just now and they confirmed that it's authentic and sometimes they put the sticker on the shfiter, sometimes they don't. Afterall, "it's just a sticker, sir" is what I was told on the phone just now...

It looks as though everything is here despite the fact it's been disturbed. The guy I spoke with stated that sometimes they ship in a smaller boxes if you've only ordered 1 item. He was able to confirm that my wife did order it and that they did ship it, so im sure it's the real thing. The presentation just took away the warm and fuzzy feeling you'd expect to get when opening new parts.

Seems odd that they wouldn't put the sticker on it nor would they put it in a TWM box, especially since its (sarcastic tone to mock TWM rep) " 'freeee' advertising". Seems much better for you to post an excited thread with a TWM box and Sticker to REP and instead we have this debacle haha... At least they do have record of it. Did you put the black washer on the top part of the shifter? Or was it there when you opened it?

I was looking for differences in the actual shifter itself too. Like that washer and how the bottom hole seems smaller. Could be also that someone did open the package saw what was in it, was like "da fuqqq" and then put it all back together.

That's the way it came. I hadn't touched it outside of opening the box. I can only assume customs rummaged through it.

Where does TWM ship from?

It could have easily been someone in customs since it is all metal parts, but it is odd that they would put pieces places and open up the clear hardware bags in that case.

Hmm I'd call TWM back tomorrow and try to talk to someone different and approach it differently like kind of panicked that your package has been opened and parts were everywhere in the box to see what another answer is. I know with my job at State Farm, sometimes I have to call my underwriting department 3 or 4 times until I can get a general consensus answer, to where enough people have said it to where it must be fact, because sadly there are people in their job who don't know what they are doing nor know what they are talking about.

I would make sure every little piece is there too since hardware originally comes in pre-sealed bags.

Funny, I used to work at State Farm in claims for 10 years.

I will call back tomorrow or maybe send an email and see what I can find out. Maybe someone from TWM will see this thread and chime in. They ship from Canada which is why customs came to mind.

Then yeah customs does play a role in it. But still odd for them to open up all the clear bags and not put anything back the way it was.

Sounds good and keep the thread and forum informed.

I've been at State Farm for just over a year now, but work at an agent's office as a Mutli-Line Sales and Service rep. Need that sales adrenaline ahah.. Couldn't sit there in underwriting or service or claims and deal with only problems hahah.

Being in the claims side can be rough. It's like a meat grinder. Lol

I'll def keep everyone updated.

Yeah there is a reason why I like the Job I am in, not only is my job not only specifically taking calls from upset or pissed off customers; which a lot of my job is taking calls form customers, but they're not always upset.
If that was the only concept to my job I probably would have yelled at someone by now. There have been a couple times; I had this one guy who for literally, not figuratively, 2 hours and 8 minutes, debated with me on the concept of why a current driver in the State of CA must have auto insurance. Mind you this is also someone who called in looking for a quote.

After I got him settled on why, he went into Why it is different from Maryland (where he was coming from) and California (where he was moving to).
In the end, he didn't do the policies and sadly that made me happy, he would have been one of those customers to where if his premium went up $.01/ 6months that he would be raging on the phone... lol

Plus, with all the room for bonuses and accomplishments on the sales side have a lot of positive reinforcement there

I hate people like like that. lol. State Farm puts a ton of money into the Agency/Producer side of things. Much more so than on the claims side. The people that I know who still work for State Farm in claims say there are lots of organizational changes that is making it hard for pretty much everyone. I spent some time in Underwriting and liked it a good bit more than claims.

Blame customs or the courier. . But they probably thought it was some sort of weapon.
