two questions

I went to the stealership and paid $22 for a gallon of the lifelong antifreeze. Is it worth it?
Also checked on tires for base 18 inch and Tires Plus had 4 Goodrich runflats installed for about $770. I never see anyone talking about them? Are they worth it?
THANKS

You answered your own question.

Jimbo370 12-12-2015 09:34 PM

could not get it anywhere else that I am aware of?

DavidZ370 12-13-2015 03:53 AM

antifreeze is fine, the rest i wouldnt trust them with my car.

barncobob 12-13-2015 10:23 AM

my honda and nissan I always use their antifreeze and auto trans fluid,
for tires id look at Tirerack, hard to beat prices:excited:

What color is the coolant? Green or blue? You want the blue. That seems like a decent price from a dealer - overpriced like everything but not outrageously so.

Runflats are usually very loud and very heavy. I would not sacrifice performance for the convenience of not having to change a tire :driving:

Not to mention run flats ride like ****.

wanker 12-13-2015 11:34 AM

Do not purchase run flats. They blow.

Next, anything auto-related that is claimed be "lifelong" in marketing nonsense.

1. Thanks for the advice on run flats I have no 1st hand knowledge on them I want lighter tires and quiet so they don't make the grade.
2. The antifreeze looks bluish green. the previous owner kept up with the maintenance at the stealership under warranty. No problems just thinking the anti-freeze is 6 yrs unless there is coolant drainage maintenance in 3 yrs.

SouthArk370Z 12-13-2015 01:11 PM

Antifreeze is like most other fluids in a car - you can't change them too often.
As per wanker, there is no "lifelong" coolant.
$22 sounds a bit high but it's not outrageous, especially at a dealership. Personally, I'd see if I could find a cheaper alternative.
I agree with what everybody else said about the run-flats - not a sports car thing. Fantastic for certain applications.

don't get run flats for this car... it's already loud on the stock tires

get yourself a nice set of summer sport tires or some nice winter tires depending where and when you're driving.

get the most tire you can reasonably afford becauses the tires are what keep you planted. not how many ponies you can muster up.

I love the stiff sidewall handling of my run flats:confused:

i think last time i got the blue coolant from Nissan it was $20 so that's not bad at $22.

kenchan 12-15-2015 02:21 PM

yah $22 sounds reasonable. good buy.

which reminds me, i should probably replace my coolant next season on my Z..
but only 18k miles or something on the car, the coolant looks clear and blue.

probably not needed.

honestly I've never changed mine just added if it got low. mine is still crystal clear and blue. just about to crack 51k miles this week/weekend most likely.
