Early morning/late night. 25+ miles from home (sounds like). Could have fallen asleep. Who knows?

RIP to whomever this was. Just another example of how powerful these cars are for what a person thinks they can handle. Remember to buckle up and remember crash techniques if you ever crash and flip. If you have a helmet on a track and crash you grab the bottom front part so your arms aren't flailing. On a street situation like this one you do the same except grab your seatbelt for the same reasons.

Also shows you have to have a certain amount of maturity to drive this vehicle as well if he was not being responsible and obeying the traffic laws around him.
This coming from a 21 year old..

Is it bad that when I watch/hear stories of car accidents in the news the moment I hear "wasn't wearing a seatbelt" I instantly stop caring? Kind of like when I see a motorcycle accident and the biker has no helmet and no gear.

Worst ones are the partially ejected from car when it rolls. I've been on that scene before as a first responder... it was gruesome.

No. When you do stupid stuff, you have to pay the price. Sometimes that price is quite high. Mother Nature is a real bitch.

Or you know, actually change them. Guy didn't seem like the smartest person, shitty tire neglect, flying in a residential area, not wearing seatbelt. He was asking for it.

RIP man.

Sad all the way around.

Was that guy a member on this forum?

NISMO IX 11-04-2015 09:49 AM

We may never know the real cause but I am assuming that the investigators can take a look at the EDR(Event Data Recorder) to see if the brakes were applied or maybe he feel asleep, worse yet texting.....

Since I live within the region of the accident and I do run into one young guy with a Z regularly, I Googled as much as I could find about the accident. Fortunately, it doesn't look like it was the guy I bump into.

I have no idea what happened, but lol @ some of the conclusions itt. Not wearing a seat belt these days is inexcusable, but this is hardly a residential neighborhood as was stated previously itt. I wouldn't even want to speculate with no more information than we have itt.

Google map of accident location as reported

RIP

Man Ejected onto Freeway Sign in Fatal 5 Fwy Crash in Glendale Area | NBC Southern California

Reminds me of this

Fuzzzy 11-04-2015 04:24 PM

One of my worst nights was years ago before seat-belt laws became universal in the US. My then-girlfriend and I witnessed an oncoming car suddenly lose control and roll. We stopped to find a very hysterical teen screaming about her boyfriend. We stumbled around in the dark searching for him for several minutes as a couple of other passing cars stopped and the occupants joined the search. I looked over to see my gf standing frozen, unable to speak, and staring at the crumpled bf at her feet.

It turned out the girl had just gotten the car (I think a Mustang convertible) a day or two earlier for her birthday and was letting her bf drive it.
