The Genesis is more like a Z, G hybrid without the cool factor IMHO, but a 10 year, 100k warranty makes it a decent choice if you aren't going to add some snails to the junk under the hood.

not sure about the q but i have seen a g25... can't remember i just was like :icon14:? WTF?

but then again they are marketing the 4cylinder turbo stang as amazing. right. any man with half a testicle would want atleast 2 more cylinders. any man that is fully competent would get the 5.0.

My mom actually has a fully loaded 15 Mustang the V4 ecoboost turbo and it is actually pretty nice and roomy on the inside, has a little gitty up but not much at all compared to a Z, but then again she drives from the Beach area to Downtown LA and back everyday in traffic (roughly 50 miles round trip) and gets 22mpg in the traffic and gets closer to 30 when cruising. Well us Z's sitting in traffic.. 13.. 14.. 15 mpg if we're lucky.
Then again this car does belong to my mother. When I was going to buy my Z I was comparing with the 15 Mustang 3.7L V6, just didn't feel like having a car that turned like a boat. Nonetheless I was one looking for that extra 2 cylinders.

Whenever I get into a heated debate with a muscle car guy I tell them one thing, They are completely different cars. Mind would destroy yours on track and yours would destroy mine in AutoX anything past 1/4 mile. The 1/4 mile will be a close battle and rely on the shifting of the driver and the take off.
They usually shut up after.

I assume you're talking about the V6 muscle cars (can we call the v6 versions muscle cars?). Because, sadly for us, this argument becoming less usable vs the newer pony cars. A Z isn't touching a 2016 Camaro SS in straight line race or the track. I'm sure there's some things the Z can do better than the newer pony cars, but the Z is showing its age a bit. At least it still looks better, and I don't see 20 of them going to work everyday though.

Well my car purchase was going to be a daily driver. I don't much assume that the V6 "muscle cars" and legitimately muscle cars. They aren't. I know at that point I wanted the 5.0 which was not a daily driver friendly car.
And as for the Z showing in age, it is, but you also have to remember the new models coming out in 2017 and since the new models of 2009 you have to admit from 2009-2015 the Z had an amazing run.
If they go with the 3.0L TT it will be even more of a force to be reckon with on the track just because it will a lot easier to mod.
From what I understand the Camaro SS comes in a V8 only? although if it comes in a V6 it is understandable of the difference in exhaust tone I hear sometimes and also why I was able to beat some here and there.

Well said. The Camaros and the mustangs are like ants marching around these parts. Rarely do I see another Z out there.

I agree that it's had a great run. For the money it's still a fantastic car. I'm not holding my breath, but I'm excited to see what the future holds. And ya, the SS is the V8 version of the Camaro. Magazines are pulling 3.9 second 0-60 times and low 12 second 1/4 mile times with great lateral G numbers. I can only hope the next Z offers something near that.

kenchan 11-03-2015 06:14 PM

my ask is pretty simple. get rid of the faking throttle pedal lag and dumbarse csc.

I dunno man, I found the 5.0 to be a lot more DD friendly than the Z to be honest. It's roomier, more comfortable, has a better interior, can fit 2x as many people, and is WAY faster in a straight line. Mustangs win in aftermarket mods, too... by a lot. The only reason I ended up with a Z was because of how sexy it is and the fact that I don't have kids. It's also nice to not see 20 others on my way to work. I have no regrets choosing a Z.

The Camaro SS I drove was a turd, however. It had the cornering capacity of a brick and the weight to match. They're also extremely ugly (IMO) and come with a standard crap GM interior. No thanks.:roflpuke2:
