Finally found my Z

Hey guys after weeks of searching I have finally found the Z I am going to buy, now it is just a matter of picking it up.

Its a 2015 model with 6200km on the odometer, located in Sydney, I will have to drive it back to Adelaide, about 14 hrs drive or 1361km.

Is it OK to drive the Zed this long distance?

Will it overheat at all, ruin the engine at all?

Just worried because I havent driven for 3 years now or purchased a car for 10 years. So just a bit paranoid getting back on the road and straight into a Z and giving it a long drive back to Adelaide. I dont want the Z to be hurt at all after a long 1361km drive.

It's a Nissan not a Ferrari well past the break in period. Hop in, adjust your mirrors and hit the gas and have a blast.

MagmaRed370z 10-13-2015 06:57 AM

Yeah you will be just fine. Good luck on the trip and congrats!!

FPenvy 10-13-2015 08:15 AM

you'll be fine.

I bought mine with 1200 miles on the clock and drove it 1300 miles straight back home. think I did the trip in 18/19 hours

it hurt putting more miles on the car than it had on it in general to get it home but it was honestly a great trip.

mishuko 10-13-2015 08:22 AM

i did a 1000 km drive in 1 day and the car was fine. the weak point will probably be your mental capacity to stay alert and drive safely.

just remember it's not a race and to take lots of breaks!

Never could understand concerns about putting highway miles on a 370z. If you bought the car for investment purposes, it makes sense but if you love the way the car drives and handles, why not drive it?

It's like marrying a beautiful woman and refusing to make love more than once a month. Makes no sense.

I drove my old Z non-stop for 2,910 kms. (1,317 miles) from Dallas, Texas to Miami, Florida and with traffic it took me 23 hrs. I didn't take a break except for refueling and going to the restroom. You will be surprised how reliable and surprisingly comfortable these cars are for long driving. It was a long but fun drive.

You will not have any problems.

I thought they grew a TT Kit when they got wet?

When I got my Z, I drove about 5 miles straight to my house. I had no problems

Invest in a clear-bar asap. It's totally worth it.

firulice 10-13-2015 07:26 PM

I flew in to buy mine, picked it up and drove 2400 miles home. Good chance to get aquainted :)

Did you use any car bra to prevent stone chips?

Well I got my beautiful black 2015 Z few weeks back. Loving it to death.

Was wondering, what should I do to care for the paint and keep it looking spick all the time?

What products should I use, and what to do with it after a wash?

Spstone 01-04-2016 03:35 PM

Look up junkmans threads in the paint section and his videos on you tube. He will teach you more than you ever imagined.

mishuko 01-04-2016 03:38 PM

further to the above, technique > product

but you do need a quality random orbital. check out the detailing section, lots of stickies with lots of good information.

he'll give you a good idea what to and not to do to keep paint in good condition

I bought my car in Dallas, too, and drove it over two days back to Delaware. 1200 or so miles. Took two days because of torrential downpour, bad alignment, and bald tires. :)

Well its been a little over 3 months with my Zed, and I love it more and more everyday. The ride is just so smooth aswell as the way it just stands out everywhere :)

Really nice car, so happy with it. I just wish it had 4 seats so I can pick up more girls in it lol.
