PLEASE help me make my mind up

Have just bought a 370Z Nismo in Ebisu Black - I'm in a hurry to get the Nissan front and rear badges off of it and replace it with a 'Z' badge - but I'm torn between the two options :-

So I'm going to go with what other forum members think best as I've talked myself in and out of both !!

So which one would you go for ....

370z JDM Black Textured Premium Z logo emblem front & rear badge set | eBay

or

2X 370Z HIGH GLOSS BLACK FRONT + REAR Z LOGO EMBLEM BADGE 370 Z FAIRLADY BODYKIT | eBay

I think I've ruled the next one out but interested in opinions

2x 370Z FRONT + REAR CHROME Z LOGO BADGE EMBLEM FOR 370Z 370 Z FAIRLADY 370 Z GT | eBay

So 1, 2 or 3 guys/gals .....

Cheers

2nd item presented. What color wheels do you have. Will need to paint the handles if it isn't black.

I vote #1 as the silver and black will match the wheels and the door handles so you don't have to paint them.

Very nice. Congrats.

If I had that Z, I'd murder it out. Black handles, paint the wheels, nice tint, and let the red pieces stand out. Lower the car and push out the wheels a little. That would be bad ***.

nooooooooooooo - its evenly split - now my head really hurts !

axmea? - you're not helping ! :-)

alcheng 09-26-2015 03:32 PM

1st one looks like an oil-cap or side-marker.... thus out

3rd one looks like a door handle and the whole shiny finish makes it looks kinda cheap... out

2nd one has both matt and shiny finish, matt black makes the emblem low key and the shiny gunmetal "Z" makes it stand out but not too much, perfect match to your black NISMO.

kenchan 09-26-2015 06:22 PM

no

no

no

just leave it stock. looks better.

just don't get in a hurry removing factory emblems,,,they are glued on pretty dang good.(heat gun help's)
and you may have to trim some plastic to make them sit flat.

I guess I'm partial to #1 ; because they take a fender emblem & bond it to a base.
Mine are carbon fiber bases.Attachment 108158

I don't like any of them personally, but if you really have to change them, I'm with Hammond up there for the same reason.

BoneZ 09-26-2015 07:09 PM

...mostly because Nissan seems to be excessively proud of that "Z" and it's already plastered all over this car enough imo.

Gratters 09-26-2015 07:46 PM

Everyone loves the car then when they see its a Nissan you can see the disappointment in their face! Its not considered a premium brand here even though the 370z and GTR are clearly fabulous cars. So I wanted to add a bit of mystique to it (and hide its a Nissan to the uninitiated!)

That carbon fibre version above looks good but as usual I can't seem to find it in the UK - where did you buy them please ?

F 'em. Then again, Nissan is not a premium brand to begin with so what the hell are they thinking.

Back on topic.......I still say murder out your Z and show them who's boss. :worship: Black cars look better in the shade........lot's of them where you are from.

alyfal14 10-07-2015 09:25 PM

What I did with my Nissan emblems on the front and back was remove them, than I had a flat green 12 in stripe run the length of my white Z than I painted the emblems flat black and they look great...and that was a lot cheaper...

Cheers Hammond - the carbon backed one type arrived this morning and looks very good - someone did post a thread with steps to remove the Nissan badges but I can't find it - can anyone else retrieve it please ?

Any help much appreciated - will post up pics when done (unless I screw it up !!!)

barncobob 10-10-2015 12:19 PM

I just ordered one also...thinking of WD40 around edges, let soak...another post said to use bondo spreader(?)or maybe nylon paint scraper that is small and flexible..

jchammond 10-10-2015 12:28 PM

I didn't use that tape they sent to bond my emblems; i used 3M Ultrablack silicone.
worked very well.
Don't get in a hurry removing;heat works well to soften up the factory glue.
once i got an edge up,,i gradually put a larger wedge beside it until it came off (different sized screwdrivers)
the reason i used the rtv silicone was to ensure no water would come in from behind emblem...note that these are fender emblem's that are bonded to carbon F.

They make a couple different colors: I used ultra grey on my silver. Made it easier for clean-up & put a piece of the wide blue painters masking tape across it to hold in place. Drys in 24 hours or sooner
