Quaife differential install question

Good afternoon guys.
Trips, sorry I know it's in the wrong section ;-)

Anyways, for those of you who installed a Quaife without any other mods, did you need to shim the diff?

Some websites say you don't really need to shim a quaife, others say it's 100% necessary, and I spoke to a forum vendor and he said you don't really need to shim it unless you change the ratio out...

That being said... Did you or your installer need to shim it?
Also, if they did or you recommend me buying the shims, do I have to buy all of them and just get stuck with the rest, or can you return them? Lastly, anyone got a few shims?

Thanks in advance :tiphat:

Added a poll, and thank you :tiphat:

My installer said he didn't need to shim but I have always had a little whine on acceleration. I did take it back and have them look at it again but they said it was correct and put in heavier diff oil to make it quieter.

I will look at my invoice tonight when I get home but I don't think they needed to. I had it installed at a local dealership by their GTR tech.
