Z35 Engine Lineup Prediction

I suppose I am ready to submit my guess at the new engine lineup for the upcoming Z35.

Base: 2.0L Turbo 4 cylinder from the newly announced 2016 Infiniti Q50:

Upgrade: 3.0L Direct-Injected Twin-Turbo V-6 from the Infiniti Q60:

There will be no hybrid, as this combination is too heavy, hard to package, and expensive for a vehicle like the Z. It will be saved for the flagship technology demonstrator, the GT-R.

Thoughts? Hope I'm not stating the obvious here.

As for naming, you could either go with just 'Z' and 'Nismo Z', or you could do the old 200ZX, 300ZX, and 300ZX Nismo. I don't know if I care either way.

I like the 3.0 v6 twinturbo hopefully the z35 will be over 400hp.

I would say 400 - 425hp would be a good bet. Most likely it will be lighter than the GT-R, so that range would slot it nicely below the GT-R, numbers-wise (thus justifying the extra cost of the GT-R still), whilst still providing the performance increase that the competition is forcing and the enthusiasts are wanting.

The Z will never be a straight-line machine, it has always been more of a finesse vehicle, so I think anything more than 450hp is out of the question.

And yeah, if we can get at least 400hp.. Good bye z34. Selling or trading you in. One or the other hahaha.

I think the thread title was quite clear; you didn't have to click on it. Just having some fun since there really isn't much new to discuss with our 8 year old platform; new bumper; active noise cancellation - oooohhhh.

Sketch to production could take 5-7yrs...were doomed !

It just needs to come out already, in hopes of it making Z34 part's prices lower :)
