Traded my 370Z

Went and traded my 2013 Z, was a great car just did not fit my needs anymore of needing to have a couple more seats on several occasions.
Went back the more luxury route, as my previous car was a 335i.
This time it's less power, but more refined and practical.

I test drove the Infinity Q60, BMW 335i, Mercedes C300, Mercedes CLA, before finally settling on the Lexus IS350 F-Sport.

Much more expensive of course, and never had a Lexus before, reliability seems to be rated good. The ride quality is just awesome, and even better than the new 335i, Steering is accurate.....and soooo quite.

Obviously it's two different segments of cars, and I never had any issues with the Z, I hope the choice was a good one though.

Enjoy the new wheels and sub'd for pics.

ShutokuZ 08-07-2015 09:53 PM

Sorry to see the Z go, but you made a good choice! I love driving my wife's, as they are so quiet and have great refined driving dynamics. Lexus has one of the best reliability numbers out there.

eastwest2300 08-07-2015 09:57 PM

Lexus, good choice...

Such a great looking car, the IS F-sport.

madwi 08-08-2015 03:06 PM

Wicked angles around the tail lights, I like it.

marks370z 08-08-2015 03:20 PM

I LOVE THOSE LIGHTS!!!
Nice car, man!

37zeroZ 08-08-2015 03:23 PM

Nice consolation for the Z. :ugh2:

Funny thing that I actually considered the IS350 when shopping for a car. But in the end I wanted a more raw sports car. The IS is still nice though and I'll probably get one later one for the back seats.

b15 08-08-2015 06:41 PM

Can't go wrong with Lexus. Enjoy the new car!

MagmaRed370z 08-08-2015 06:45 PM

Main reason for me to switch was the rear seats. The RAW power was why I switched from BMW in the first place, but don't mind being back in a bit more luxurious driving style :wtf2:

The Z was/is a awesome car, and everything has it's time, lets see what comes next, just had to promise my better half to keep it longer than the usual 2 to 3 Years, loosing so much money with every trade, maybe I should start leasing instead of buying

God-Speed 08-08-2015 07:42 PM

Very nice!!!:tup::tup:

Jimbo370 08-08-2015 07:49 PM

I saw the new 2015? lexus has a 5.0 liter engine with unknown reliability at the car show. it was nice but the show girl knew nothing about it. nice car enjoy

Not to be a Debby Downer here but...solid car. Can't go wrong. However, my friend bought one 8 months ago. I drive it often. Kind of work buddies. For the price, it's really underwhelming. I'm not a fan of the "only" red interior, seats are too firm. Back is adequate but not great. Performance is paltry for the price. It's noticeably slower than my 3.8, way slower than a 370. Steering is...lackadaisical. Tech is...sub par (for the price). That being said it's a very nice car. Just not $50k nice compared to, I'll say it, my $32k Genesis. I do like the looks. I do like the transmission, it's obvious it firms up in sport mode. Mine doesn't. I just expected more from it. But like I said it is a great car but....

b15 08-08-2015 10:09 PM

Everyone has their opinion....no right or wrong in that. Personally, other than size, I wouldn't consider a genesis sedan over a Lexus IS (including the 250). And the Genesis is intended to compete with the LS not the IS, which again I think Lexus dominates in build quality and luxury

Well, I would certainly not buy the IS350, or any Lexus on power requirement. I did drive the genesis before purchasing the Z, and they are in the same class. The Lexus however, is in quality, fit and finish in a different league. You can't compare a sports sedan with a purposely build sports car, Apple to oranges.

shaun66 08-09-2015 01:23 AM

Great looking car. Love those taillights!

SanDuh684 08-09-2015 10:15 AM

Lol I did the opposite. I had an 06 IS350 and now have a 12 370z. Previous gen and current gen shares the same engine. It's a great car. The 3.5l on power mode does a good job. Certainly not a slow car.

I traded out cuz I wanted a manual and a sportier feel. The Lexus goes to the wife now which I take out occasionally. Two different cars.

U'll enjoy it.

I'll still take my reliable slow Civic over the numerous other cars I've driven

RBfastback 08-11-2015 09:57 PM

very nice, love the way they look

darkphantom 08-12-2015 02:34 PM

Congrats OP! My mom had the 2nd Gen IS350 - quick car but suspension was too firm and the tranny on it sucked!

I wish they offered a manual transmission for the new IS350, would be all over it!

equalme 08-12-2015 03:14 PM

Great choice! I traded in my 40th 370z about three months ago for a RC 350 F Sport, drove it for a month and wasn't satisfied with the power due to the increased weight. I ended up trading up to the RCF.
