I'm old enough to lived through the era of American cars being the laughing stock of the world...which in my experience they richly deserved. Everyone I owned was a complete piece of crap. I have no clue how we ever made it to the moon if car manufacturing was an indication of our engineering prowess. To this day, I will not set foot in any domestic car showroom. My first Japanese car was a Honda CRX which is still my favorite car I ever owned. Knock wood, I have never had any major problem with any Japanese car I've owned, including this Z. In fact since 2010 all I've done on the Z is basic maintenance and new tires. Along the way I did make the mistake of buying a BMW and didn't take long to realize they were damn near as unreliable as an American car. My brother in law has a Mercedes and a Volkwagen and has had nothing but trouble with both. Now don't get me started on domestic beer.

You can keep your Z with your wife on the passenger side and your baby on a baby seat installed at the trunk.

I'm still a big Nissan fan, but I don't think Nissan's cars are so much reliable as Toyota's or Honda's.

They might be just acceptable. You must be lucky if free from defects.

Nissan is not bad, but is not pretty reliable either.

But for their performance and advanced technology, I personally bet that Nissan cars are excellent among its competitors.

Hope Nissan gets better.

That's probably true. I've owned multiple Honda's and the quality has been outstanding. Much as I love the Z, I would trade it in a heartbeat for a CRX. Talk about a street legal go kart...it was even more toss-able than a Miata. The CRX had no power steering, no A/C,( which in my old age I would miss) crank windows. You could change the oil filter from the top of the engine. Best clutch and gearbox combo ever. Only problem was the paint...rusted like crazy. No where near as fast as the Z, but being so small it felt faster. I wish there was still a market for such a car.
