my heart is officially broken, i love driving the car, but I hear the noise and i don't care if the dealership thinks i'm crazy.

Women are better at hearing high frequencies to start with, and the techs have lost most of their high frequency hearing from using air tools day in day out. Se if you can arrange for a younger women in the dealership to sit in the car and listen (you lose high frequency hearing with age as well).

I can hear the exactly same noise you guys discribed. It sounds like I am oprating a jet or I have a turbocharger in my car! I own a g35 coupe and drove many g37x before, never heard this noise tho... I am going to bring my car to the Nissan dealership again. But before I walk into their door, is there any offical fix for that? Or haven't Nissan confirmed it's the ECU? Fuel pump? Diff? Or my ear problem???

If dealership can't fix it this time, I will have to install HKS Hi-Power catback to eliminate this problem. :icon17:

lol. Make sure to do it in the creepiest way possible. Ask the cute secretary to come sit on your lap and listen.

I haven't noticed any high pitched frequency at all

kenchan 12-14-2011 03:40 PM

it's only on certain cars. mine does not have it but the other car i test drove the same day had the high pitched CRT TV tone.

m4a1mustang 12-14-2011 03:44 PM

Yep. It only affects some of the '09s and maybe a few '10s. Mine had it bad.

haven't heard it yet, but my droid has a frequency analyzer app downloaded on it. good way to check it out/prove it to the dealer if necessary.

You have a 2011 so you shouldn't ever encounter it. :)

those app version spectro-analyzers suck. :rofl2: i know cause i have one in my droidx and it's only sort of okay. it will most likely not detect.

Ill throw my .02 in. G37 owners (no shock there) have a similar problem. I have it in my car, an 09 G37x. It sounds like its comming through the speakers. I can only tell when the radio is off. It doest happen at idle, but a tiny bit of gas gets it to make the CRT Monitor type sound. Sound dosent really change pitch or tone with any higher rpms other than idle.

Sucks but i dont have the energy to fight with Infiniti.

The dealer rejected my claim of a high pitched noise coming from the back of the car that is so hard to hear but actually hurts your ears. My girlfriend complained too about this to me. Went back again ..and now the dealer says i'm right and all the cards in the lot have this problem. The service guy said it sounds like a bad fuel pump that puts out this high frequency noise...what is the deal..

..anyone heard this before. Is this a factory problem? Thanks in advance.

btw...i put in stillen generation 3 intakes and she sounds real throaty now..and a little faster...2nd gear burns nice rubber when I bang it down and take off.

Wow you can hear my mother-in-Law in DC? I don't think nissan has enough sound deadening to fix her screaching high pitched noise.:roflpuke2:
