Oh, and at the car wash I was having it hand washed and they pulled it around to dry it off. Guy next to me tells me (not knowing it was my car), "That's such an ugly colour. Can't stand it." and continued to ramble on about it. I just said, "I kind of like it myself." as they called my name and I walked to the car... :icon17:

What a ****.

darkphantom 07-23-2015 12:56 PM

Damn, either you guys have some nice people around where you drive or I just am not driving in the right neighborhoods :rofl2:

Really surprised at all Porsche comparisons, really?? Maybe I need to swap my badge with Stuttgart's and no one will notice :icon18:

I can't remember what he was driving, I think it was some sort of Cherokee or some ********.

I'm just happy I made him put his foot in his mouth. :icon17:

:icon17: But it's perfect here October through April!

No snow.
No blizzards.
No ice.
No hurricanes.
No tornados.
No earthquakes.

Just dust storms.
Monsoons for a month.
The occasional microburst.
Flash floods (easy to avoid though).
Mexicans.

..........then it's 200 degrees. then add in scorpions, black widows, and Mexicans.

i'll take my December-march cold then the rest is fine....aside from some rain.....which happened a lot this year so far lol

this week is the definition of perfect. 80 degrees 40-50% humidity. so nice :tiphat:

I've not seen a black widow in ages, nor a scorpion. You won't unless you get a house on the outskirts where you're building over their homes.

I can stand a few months of 100's (and a month of that with 50-60% humidity) for the nine months of perfection we get.

My co-worker calls my car the "cute barbie car"

She's legally blind....

Your response should have been "Umm... don't you know anything about Porsches? It's a Cayenne."

Too be fair, they do look rather mild in stock form, but lowered on some aggressive wheels the looks are night and day.

I stopped at a convenience store in a small town in Missouri about a month ago. Parked at the gas island and walked inside and the female attendant said "nice car" at which point I realized she had no front teeth. Walked outside and another girl walks up and just says OMG but she was skin and bones and had one of those lazy eyes. So, my conclusion is that my Z is a "hillbilly chick magnet."

edub370 07-31-2015 11:15 AM

was eating at a local place here in kc on the patio (to get the bes view of my z, of course). had a group of older people (probably in their 70's) come up and stare at my car for a while and start pointing at it, then go around the back to look at the badge and heard one of them say, "it's a faaair-lady? Z". and his wife goes, "it sure is pretty". feelin like a boss lol

GZ3 07-31-2015 12:19 PM

Lol. I must live in a very CARducated area... No one ever has ever mistaken my car for what it is, ever. The car scene is just too strong here

sp911 07-31-2015 02:07 PM

Once I pulled into a parking lot and an older couple pull along side me. I thought he was going to yell at me for not using my signal (I usually do, really. No really). But he proceeded to ask me about my z for 10 minutes. I get the “nice car. What is it?” all the time, but the best one had to be when this hot blonde (if you’re into that sort of thing, I sure am) pulls along side of me in a 20 yr old pos that had bondo, broken tail lights, dents and front bumper missing. I was ready to laugh and say, “nice car. Is it for sale?” but before I could she said, “I love your car. What is it?” we talked until the light changed and then continued at the next light. I was glad I didn’t possibly piss her off, she was pretty sweet.

Did you get some? lol :happydance:

Dropping my wife off at the front of the business she works at:

Seahawks hat guy: Hey nice car, what is it

Me: Thanks, it's a Nissan 370Z

Seahawks hat guy: Nice, I really like the 270Z I would love to have one

Me: There is no 270Z

Seahawks hat guy: Yes there is

Me: No...there isn't. There is a 240, 260, and 280Z, then you have the 300, 350, and 370Z

Seahawks hat guy: I'm pretty sure there is

Me: I am 100% sure there isn't

Seahawks hat guy: Really?

Me: (What I thought of saying) Well since you obviously supported your belief in the Nissan 270Z with such fervor and irrefutable evidence I have now changed my mind and will concur with your assessment that the Nissan 270Z does in fact exist.
(What I really said) Yes, really....

Moral of the story, if a seahawks fan tries to talk cars with you...just walk away. :shakes head:

Super nice guy, talked for a bit and then said I'm giving you a warning just bc I can't imagine what insurance would be on a car like this. Said have a good night and was on his way. Whatever, I'll take the compliment. LOL

A cop told me the same thing once. Pretty much let me go on a warning (gave me a no front plate ticket instead), after saying that insurance would probably skyrocket if he gave me the speeding ticket. He also considered the fact that I was 21 at the time.

On a different note, everyone still sure seems to be getting lots of compliments on their Z. When I first got my Z, I used to get lots of them, too. Recently, however, the comments had sort of diminished.

My next car will hopefully be a Porsche :D. I've been drooling over them big time as of late. My friend owns a 911 GT3 and it's just so ******* sexy. I also really like the Cayman's. Until then, the Z will have to do.

NissanGirl43 08-02-2015 09:26 AM

I pulled mine through the dealership service garage and while talking to the service person two guys were
Checking out my Z. My husband was off to the side watching. Not sure if it was because I got my Z at a Chevrolet dealer but it got some attention that day. And finally my husband got to see what a eye catcher
A Z is !

According to Porsche, the 911, Cayman and Boxster are due for a redesign for 2017. I'm going to wait and see if I like what they've done. If it's good, then I'm going to order a 2018 Cayman in Nissan Monterey Blue to match Belle, since the guy at Porsche North America told me I can order the car in any color I want (for a price, of course). :yum:

Lmfao at 1st post.

I went to in-n-out and saw the staff 'miring from the window. When I pulled up to pay, 3-4 crew members gathered around the 2nd window so that one of the guys could deliver my food as he eye'd my car. I heard someone in the back say, "I think it's a Nissan s1000."

I lulz'd pretty hard and revved my engine for their entertainment (and mine as well).

Why does everyone confuse it for the 350z? It's so very different o_O

I attended the largest car show in Nebraska a few weeks ago and all of the people running the car show (4 or 5 people thought the day) referred to my car as "that 350z". When I was parking "oh just follow that other 350z" and "what is this 350z here, does it even make noise" (joking I hope). Etc. all the 350z owners knew that I was different. I don't get it, they look so different to me.

Also I was the only 370 at the whole show, which was kinda cool but, at the same time, I wanted to meet some fellow 370Z enthusiasts.
