Blue Z in Houston

Is there anyone on the forum here in Houston/Clear Lake area with a Monterrey blue Z? I saw one this weekend on the feeder road of 45 near Nasa Road 1. It was beautiful. I don't own one yet but have been thinking this might be my next car. Blue was looking very clean in person.

Also, saw a silver one sat night on west gray I think that sounded pretty good. Just wondering if any of you guys were on the forum. Nice rides

I have PG in Houston, others:
White - TX_370
PG - Wstar
White - Steve
Red - Tonmed123

There are a few others I have meet, a black one, another white owner, but I have yet to meet any blue or yellow owners. I did see my first blue a few weeks ago around Uptown.

Saw a Blue at the Field Of Dreams (Baseball park just south of Clear Lake a while back), probably the same one. I'm starting to see more on the road lately, saw a white one and a black one going 45 south just recently and a couple of red ones on Hwy 3. Looks like Houston may be the hottest spot for 370Z sales?

Jester 10-26-2009 12:19 PM

The dealer off of 45 south had quite a few if I'm not mistaken. Pretty sure I saw at least one GTR as well.

Yep, they have about 7 or 8. BTW, Baker Jackson has a NISMO if anyone is interested. I think it's the only one at a dealer in Houston right now. No vets yet either. :(

theDreamer 10-26-2009 02:30 PM

Mossy I believe has a Nismo but it has been a week since I was there so it might be gone, dropped my sister off for her Murano.

Just looked. They've got a vert too! They are just outside my search range so I missed it before.

AutoX Z 10-26-2009 03:55 PM

I have a blue one but it couldn't have been me you saw. I haven't left the house in 4 days, stupid swine flu.

Steven 10-26-2009 06:25 PM

I live in Clear Lake and drive a white one. Ive seen the MB one, one time.

MeetJoeAsian 10-27-2009 12:12 AM

I have a MB, but I'm in NW Houston and I didn't go down to Clear Lake this past weekend...

Anthny2040 10-27-2009 12:32 AM

I have a PG one with powdered black wheels.

There is a PG NISMO that parks at Clear Lake Regional if you want to see one in person.

fast09r1 10-28-2009 12:15 AM

that would be my dads blue Z in clear lake area he loves that car. we are finding out that nissan seems to be having problems with there paint. for instance the car got rained on and the next day he washed it there were water spots all over the hood and roof that will not come off and we are car guys so its not like we dont know how to clean them. we have tried everything to get them out but its not working. he is so pissed at nissan because the g37 i have has some of the best paint i have ever seen on a factory car.

iceman21_23 10-28-2009 12:29 AM

ahhh that sucks about the paint but yes the 370z's paint does suck across the board, i saw a black 370 at UCHL and even left them a note to come on to the side...

Nissan's paint on the 350z and G35c was very crappy, they are very thin and strip easily...most people actually had to sand down their bumpers and then repaint and BAKE the bumper to get the better paint...I remember my G35c, small rocks and gravels that were kicked up easily stripped the bumper, and when I washed my car with a pressure wash, it actually stripped a huge chunk of paint off my bumper...

but as far as water spots, that would mainly be due to the clear coat and wax....I claybarred mine and gave it zymol wax, and water would just bead up into larger and larger beads and they just fall off...when you claybar, if you think it's SO SMOOTH and think you've done a good job, here's the real test: grab a very thin piece of plastic (best thing to use is the plastic wrap from a pack of cigarette), place your fingers inside the plastic bag, and rub your fingers (through the plastic) on the surface you have just clayed, if it smoooth as hell, then you did a great job, if you can still feel the grains or micro bumps, then you didn't really do it that well...

Jester 10-28-2009 10:45 AM

Sorry to hear about the paint issue fast, but the car was still lookin sexy. Glad to see so many z owners in Houston, esp in the Clear Lake/League City area. Any of you guys ever stop by the car meet on Saturdays at Target in League City? I used to go when I lived at the Palms down the street.

TX_370 10-28-2009 10:47 AM

I've seen a MB @ the beltway and Harwin... I waved, he ignored... :(

GETU1 10-28-2009 01:10 PM

I've seen a black one, white one, 2 other brilliant silvers besides mine, a MB one, CY one, a SR with Univ of Houston plates, but yet to see a PG one.

There is a silver sport one with a Nismo spoiler near the Galleria area. Who are you??? Show yourself! I am envious of the spoiler. You mock me so...:icon08:

Anthny2040,

Who did you get your rims Powder Coated from?? How much was it? How long did it take? Is there a warranty on the paint? Are you happy with the results/work?

I would like to get my 19' Rays powder coated Gun Metal Grey. Thanks.

theDreamer 10-28-2009 01:16 PM

I have seen a silver with an S-tune spoiler, does the red one with UH tag say EDUC8R?

I can't remember what the actual plate said. I just remember seeing the small UH emblem on the plate, as it zoomed right past me. :p It was near the Galleria, on Richmond and making a turn onto Chimney Rock. BTW, go Coogs!!

Jester 10-28-2009 04:32 PM

UH alumn myself, class of 06 main campus :tiphat:

fast09r1 10-28-2009 09:16 PM

we have used the clay bar and wax already and have also tried scratch-x and the spots are still there. we also tried the 50/50 water and vinegar mix and that didn't work at all.

For me, the MB is too pastel-ish. I prefer the San Marino Blue Pearl on the 2007 350z. To each their own. Either way, nice car!
